Zemuria was the home planet of the Zemurian human species, the creators of the Gatlanteans. It was captured inside of the Ark of Destruction early into the Gatlantis Empire's history and its natives were wiped out. It was destroyed in 2203 during the Decisive Battle off Mars.

Zemuria was a terrestrial planet with a breathable atmosphere and the home of the Zemurian species. It originally boasted vast oceans and weathering phenomena, but following its capture inside of the Ark of Destruction, its seas evaporated and the entire planet was turned into a reddish-brown desert.

Various belts of red lights ran around the planet and were visible from outer space.

History

Zemuria is captured inside of the Ark of Destruction

In ancient times, Zemuria was visited by the Archelias civilization, eventually leading to the development of the Zemurian race. The Zemurians eventually created a race of artificial humans, the Gatlanteans, who they used as slaves. The Gatlanteans revolted against their overlords, but they were almost entirely wiped out, with the few survivors escaping off planet. Around 1203, the Gatlanteans obtained the Archelias Ark of Destruction, a mobile fortress of Jovian scale created to annihilate all human life. Headed by Great Emperor Zworder, the Gatlanteans took revenge on their former masters, wiping them out and enclosing their planet inside of the Ark.

Zemuria is destroyed by a Legionnaire Cannon in May of 2203

One thousand years later, in May of 2203, the Gatlantis Empire was engaged in a bloody war against the Earth Federation. During a battle, the Earthling battleship Yamato fell inside of the Ark of Destruction and crashlanded on Zemuria. There, the crew found a pair of Zemurian AIs and discovered the existance of Golem, a device capable of instantly killing all Gatlanteans. To prevent the enemy to escape with this secret knowledge, Emperor Zworder ordered to destroy Zemuria itself. However, Yamato managed to escape the planet's collapse and relay information regarding Golem to their allies.
