- For information on the various series, movies, and other media in which vessels named Yamato appear, see Space Battleship Yamato.
Yamato is a ship name shared by multiple space and naval craft:

- IJN Yamato, an Imperial Japanese Navy battleship sunk in the East China Sea late in the Second World War.
- IJN Yamato (2199), its counterpart in Space Battleship Yamato 2199 and its sequels.
22nd and 23rd Centuries
Yamato is a highly advanced space battleship initially launched to find the planet Iscandar and save life on Earth from extinction:
- Yamato (OS), an Earth Defense Force vessel in the original Space Battleship Yamato and its sequels.
- Yamato (2199), a United Nations Cosmo Navy vessel in Space Battleship Yamato 2199 and its sequels.
- Yamato-class, the class of Yamato and its successor, Ginga
- Program Yamato, the project to build Yamato and send it to Iscandar for the Cosmo Reverse System
- Yamato (live action film), an Earth Defense Force vessel in the Space Battleship Yamato live action film.
26th Century and Beyond
Several centuries later in the original series (OS) continuity, the name Yamato is still used for newer and more advanced spacecraft:
- Yamato 17th, a dreadnought first launched prior to the year 2503, in the Yamato 2520 series.
- Yamato 18th, a Cosmo Adventure-class ship built with Salene technology and using the computer core of the wrecked Yamato 17th, in the Yamato 2520 series.
- Great Yamato No. Zero, a ship that fights alongside the surviving Milky Way Alliance beginning in the year 3199 to resist an invasion of the galaxy, in the Great Yamato No. Zero series
