UNCF officers study a wave motion core
The wave motion core, also known as the Dimensional Wave Core,[1] is an Iscandarian piece of technology capable of storing information, it's used as a critical component of the wave-motion engine.
A wave motion core produced on Iscandar is known as a pure wave motion core.
History[]
The Beemela 4 wave motion core
In ancient times the Iscandarian civilization sent a spacecraft carrying a wave motion core on Planet Beemela 4, the core stored the information needed to operate the Subspace gate present at the edge of the system.[2][3]
On January 17, 2199, the second princess of Iscandar Sasha arrived to the Solar system to give the United Nations a wave motion core needed to activate the first Earthling-made wave-motion engine. In order to retrieve the package safely on Mars, the UN Cosmo Navy organized Operation M as a diversion to distract the garmillan forces present in the outer solar system. The operation was a success in that regard, but Sasha died while entering Mars's atmosphere due to her ship's engine failing. Despite this the Core was secured and the Engine was activated. Space battleship Yamato, the first warp capable Earthling vessel would take off on February 11, 2199.[4][5][6] The battleship eventually found the Beemela wave motion core and used it to activate the Gate and reach Planet Balun.[2][3][7]
Mass produced wave motion cores during Operation Black Bird
In 2203, the Earth Federation executed Operation Black Bird against the Gatlantis Empire during their invasion of the solar system. The operation sought to deploy mass produced wave motion cores by using an unmanned fighter squadron, the Cores would then enter in Wave motion resonance with a Cosmo Reverse System, causing a surge of energy that could deactivate the Gatlantean fleet. The operation was succesfully carried out during the Attack on the annihilation missile fleet on May 11, 2203.[8][9]
Yamato's pure wave motion core became an object of interest of Dezariam between 2205 and 2207. As one of the fragments of Iscandar,[10] the nation claimed to have time traveled back to the 23rd century from the 32nd in order to use it to fix a spatial rupture near Saturn before it could manifest.[11] At the same time, the core was studied aboard the battleship, leading to the discovery of India resonance waves, and their applications.[12]
