Ginga uses Wave-motion Resonance to boost the output of allied Wave-motion Shields
Wave-motion Resonance is a sympathetic resonance phenomenon[1] that can occur between two Wave-motion Energy-powered devices. It can be controlled by a Wave-motion Energy control device through a Wave-motion Resonance Wave. By emitting a resonance wave, the control device can significantly boost the output of various Wave-motion Energy-powered devices in its vicinity,[2][3] sometime creating an energy surge capable of deactivating nearby ships.[4] This effect was first studied and used by the Earth Federation through the usage of a Cosmo Reverse System, it was put to military use aboard the Yamato-class ship Ginga during the Gatlantis Campaign.

Wave-motion Resonance during Operation Black Bird
Wave-motion Resonance was first used in the military field by the Yamato-class battleship Yamato during the Battle of the eleventh planet by firing its Wave-motion Gun at the 11th planet's artifiicial sun's reactor. The resonance created by the direct hit generated an interference wave that deactivated an invading Gatlantean fleet.[5] The tactic was studied to be used by the Yamato-class Wave-motion Test Ship Ginga. By using the Cosmo Reverse System taken from Yamato, Ginga was able of resonating with all ships in its fleet, a tactic which was used to great military gains during the Attack on the Annihilation Missile Fleet in May of 2203. Another tactic which was devised for Ginga's CRS was Operation Black Bird, which sought to use the Wave-motion Resonance between the cruiser and vast number of mass-produced Wave-motion Cores to create a powerful energy surge and deactivate part of the invading Gatlantean fleet.[4]
Ginga's CRS resonates with Andromeda
Ginga once again used Wave-motion Resonance at the end of the Decisive Battle off Mars to boost the Andromeda's Wave-motion Guns in an attack against the Ark of Destruction's gravity core. Their effort was successfull, but it put too much strain on the Cosmo Reverse System, causing it to permanently shut down.[2]
In 2205, the Desler fleet used a tactic similar to Ginga's during its liberation of planet Galman. By scuttling a Super Gelvades-class Astro Transport Ship they created a Wave-motion Resonance phenomenon which rendered the surrouding Bolar Federation fleet unbale to move.[6][7] In the same year, a new Wave-motion control device developed from the CRS, the Wave-motion Resonance Waveguide Device, was equipped on the modified Dreadnought-class supply carrier Asuka. The device was used by Asuka to resonate with Yamato during the Battle in the Vorzon System, allowing the battleship to reactivate its depleted engine and escape an incoming debris shockwave from the destroyed planet Garmario.[3]
