The Type 5 Standard Motor Boat , also known as the Large Motor Boat, is a Earth Federation Cosmo Navy type of carrier-based boat used for transporting crew members and supplies, lifesaving work, and other miscellaneous tasks, such as being used as a ferry to other ships. Each EFCN ship is equipped with several types of Motor Boats, Type 5 Motor boat is classified as a relatively large one. It can carry up to 50 passengers.[1]
History[]
The Type 5 has been in production since 2202, and has been installed on many ships, including the Dreadnought-class.[1]
Two Type 5 Standard Motor Boat were present aboard the Yamato-class cruiser Ginga by 2205. One of them was used to transfer Sargeant Sukeji Yabu from Ginga to her sister ship Yamato in October of the same year.[2] Later, as Yamato was approaching the subspace gate linking the Milky Way with the Salezar system, Yabu tried to steal it to reach Garmillas and join the fight against Dezariam.[3]
