- As the Dessler Cannon aims at and fires upon Yamato, the episode introduces "Dessler Attacks" (デスラー 襲撃) into the Yamato 2199 musical score. The piece was first composed for Farewell to Space Battleship Yamato in 1978 and was used in subsequent series and movies in the original continuity.[1][2]
