The Galactic Pilot is the march of the United Nations Cosmo Navy. There are two versions of the song, one with lyrics and one without.[1][2]

The Galactic Pilot was sung by the crew of the space destroyer Yukikaze as they covered the Kirishima's retreat at the end of the First Battle of Pluto.[1] Weeks later, Yamato's boatswain Isami Enomoto whistled the song during the battleship's stay on Enceladus.[3] The song was played in the background of the Yamato's line-crossing cerimony as it left the solar system.[4]

Lyrics[]

O’er the gelid waves of galactic streams,
Set course for the fixed star of Centauri
Our glorious cosmoship crosses o’er the void far, beyond those twinkling stars
Set Sail! We’re casting off, anchors aweigh
Stand on your bearing, steady as she goes (Steady as she goes)
Weather your helm towards the stars
We are Pilots
We are Pilots of the Cosmos.[1][5]

Oh, now as we sail o’er the Kuiper Belt,
we’ve left the blue Earth behind us
Far beyond the trails of cosmic wakes,
We can see the event horizon, our heading
Set Sail! We’re casting off, anchors aweigh Stand on your bearing, steady as she goes (Steady as she goes)
The sea of stars is this ship’s destination
We are Pilots
We are Pilots of the Cosmos.[1][2]

English translation[]

Here is a partial transcript of the lyrics to the song in the English dub.

Crossing the waves drifting out on the galactic sea
fixing our sight on Alpha Centauri!
Brightl be the fiery glow, of the stars celestial,
Lighting the way ahead to capture destiny!
Set sail! We're leaving shore!
Raise the anchor! Home no more!
Hold steady, crewman brother. Onward past Mars![1]
