Several Earthlings are contacted telepathically via the Cosmo Wave
A telepath is a person with telepathic abilities,[1] including the ability to read minds,[2] communicate at large distances,[3] access memories,[4] sense people[5] or objects,[6] and in some cases, take control of technology and project illusions.[4][7]
Most notably, the Zirellans have a high telepath birth rate,[1] which led to heavy discrimination against their people and almost rendered them extinct.[7]
Zirellans[]
The Zirel are the human species with the highest birth rate of telepath amongst their ranks.[1] These abilities, paired with their knowledge of ancient Archelian technology, has allowed them on various occasions to project extremely complex and believable illusions. Their telepaths can also access memories, read minds, take over technological devices, and sense events that are happening elsewhere.[4][7]

The Zirellan pilgrims, led by the telepath priestess Loerelai Loer
These abilities frightened other species, who grew distrustful and hateful of the Zirel, ultimately leading to their genocide and almost extinction of their species.[2][7] A group of pilgrims survived and hid away on the Archelian celestial ark, Shambleau, where they used their abilities, most notably their illusionary powers, to trap visitors and prevent them from discovering their existance.[7]

Mirenel Linke during her attack on the Yamato
Two other Zirellans survived and came to serve the Greater Garmillan Empire,[2] with one, Mirenel Linke, once using an Archelian Ghost Link device to project her spirit to the Earthling space battleship Yamato, light years away. There, she took control of the battleship, put the crew in a trance where they relived their memories, and trapped others in illusions.[4]
Iscandarians[]

Yurisha appears to Yuki Mori inside of Linke's illusion
The Iscandarian third princess, Yurisha Iscandar, exhibited telepathic abilities. While in a comatose state, she could appear as a ghost to certain individuals.[8] During her psychic attack on Yamato, she confronted Linke and was able to temporarily halt her influence over a crew member.[4] Additionally, she formed a psychic link with a hologram letter, sensing the moment it was opened from light-years away.[6]
While in a coma, her spirit took over the body of the young Earthling Yuria Misaki.[4]
Garmillans[]
The Garmillan Elisa Domel sensed the death of her husband, Erich Domel, in the Rainbow Star Cluster, while she herself was imprisoned on planet Leptapoda.[5]
Earthlings[]
While no Earthling telepaths are known to exist, Yuria Misaki possesses a spiritic constitution, that allows her to see and sense spirits.[8]
Domon Ryusuke and Takeshi Ageha once achieved telepathic communication through India resonance waves.[9]
Cosmo Wave[]

The Zemurian Toko Katsuragi uses the Cosmo Wave
The Cosmo Wave is a high-dimensional method of communication that uses telepathy. The Zemurians and Gatlanteans extinct[10] species were both able to use it, and it's used by the legendary goddess Teresa of Terezart to call those she needs to fullfil her most optimal vision of the future.[3]
India resonance waves[]

Domon and Ageha communicate telepathically through India resonance waves
India resonance waves, a unique type of Wave-motion Resonance Wave produced by a pure Wave-motion Core, can enable telepathic communication between two individuals using an Omnidirectional Radar.[9]
This form of telepathy is more likely to succeed if the individuals share a strong bond. This phenomenon has only occurred twice: first, when the infant Sasha Iscandar Kodai communicated telepathically with an unknown recipient, and second, between the Earthlings Domon Ryusuke and Takeshi Ageha.[9]
Behind the scenes[]
While two different terms are used in Japanese to refer to telepaths, both have the same meaning and translation, with one (テレパス, Terepasu) being the English word "telepath" written in Katakana.[1]
