Takeshi Daikuhara was an airman in Yamato's fighter wing. He took part in all of the major operations of the air corps up until the battle of the rainbow star cluster, where he was killed in action.
His love interest was Chizuru Miyazawa, at least he had a photo of her in his cockpit ("Under a Rainbow Sun").
