Star Blazers 2199, known in Japan as Space Battleship Yamato 2199 (宇宙戦艦ヤマト2199, Uchū Senkan Yamato 2199) is an ongoing comic series adapting the eponymous anime series written and drawn by Michio Murakawa. The late Yoshinobu Nishizaki and Nobuteru Yuki are credited with the original story and character designs, respectively. It's serialised on the monthly magazine Newtype Ace, while Kadokawa Shoten is publishing the monthly chapters in compilation volumes.[2][1]

It contains humanity's last hope: the planet Iscandar on the other side of the Magellan Galaxy has the technology to defeat the Gamilas and restore the planet. The space battleship Yamato is entrusted with this task, but they have only one year before humanity ends.
