- This article describes an Earth Defense Force staff officer from Farewell to Space Battleship Yamato, Space Battleship Yamato 2, and Space Battleship Yamato III. For his counterpart in Space Battleship Yamato 2199 and its sequels, see Kotetsu Serizawa (2199).
A staff officer served in the Earth Defense Force headquarters under the command of Heikuro Todo. In 2201 he is enraged by the Yamato crew's insubordination and uses every tool at his disposal to stop the Yamato from leaving Earth for Telezart. This includes using magnetic missiles and the Battle Satellite. He later opposed Ryu Hijikata's move to converge the fleet to make a stand at Saturn.[citation needed]
Later in 2203, he and Todo assisted in the plan to evacuate citizens of Earth during the Solar Crisis.[citation needed]
