  • Various infoboxes can be accessed by clicking the "insert" button on the edit bar and then clicking "infobox".

{{Quote|But the ''Yamato'' isn't just a battleship. It's the hope of mankind! It's a symbol of human will, of humanity's wish to never lose hope!|Commander [[Susumu Kodai (2199)|Susumu Kodai]]<ref name=ep42205/> }}

The opening quote can use either the {{Quote}} and the {{Structured Quote}} templates.

  • The opening quote should be descriptive of the article subject.
  • The quote should be put after the infobox.

Sectioning

Example: (from Toru Hoshina)

==Biography==
[...]
==Personality==
[...]
==Battles==
[...]
==Manga==
[...]
==Gallery==
[...]
==Behind the scenes==
[...]
==Notes==
[...]
==References==

Sectioning is essential to presentation and navigation. This is accomplished by adding headings and subheadings as appropriate.

Images

Example: (from Garmillas)

[[File:Saving Baleras.png|thumb|right|251x251px|The planet is saved from an apocalyptic attack by its own ruler.]]
  • Images should be placed where they are most relevant and should not interrupt the flow or the aesthetics of the article.
  • Images should usually alternate from the right-side to the left-side of the article, unless this contradicts the previously stated rule.
  • Images should be as high quality as possible.

References

The "References" section should be the last section in the article, unless there is a "Japanese language information" section.

  • The template {{Reflist}} or the code <references/>
  • If an article has a large number of references, the template reflist should be used with two columns: {{Reflist|2}}. For example: Yamato (2199)

External links

Example: Hoko Kuwashima

*[https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Houko_Kuwashima Hoko Kuwashima] on Wikipedia
*[https://www.aoni.co.jp/search/kuwashima-houko.html Official agency profile]
*[https://m.imdb.com/name/nm0476678/ Hoko Kuwashima] on IMDb

The External links section is a bulleted list of links from websites outside of Space Battleship Yamato Wiki. The section is usually used in articles for real-life people such as voice actors, or for articles describing scientifics topics that also exist outside of the story, such as planets like Saturn.

Article footer

Japanese language information

Example: Decisive Battle off Mars

==Japanese language information==
*火星沖での決戦 ''Kasei oki de no kessen'' <small> (decisive battle off mars) </small>
*ゼムリア突入戦 ''Zemuria totsunyū-sen'' <small>(zemuria assault battle) </small>
*特白色彗星の侵攻 ''Toku hakushoku suisei no'' ''shinkō'' <small>(invasion of the white comet)</small>

The Japanese language information section should cover the original Japanese name of an article's topic whenever available.

  • The name should be rendered in the original Japanese writing and then in romaji.
  • If the article's topic has more than one name, all names that have an official original Japanese translation should be put in this section.
  • Whenever the article's topic has more than one name, the corresponding English translation should be written alongside the romaji name. The English name should be put between parenthesis and be small, as seen in the example above.

Navigation boxes

Navigation boxes (navboxes) are templates that help readers find articles about similar subjects.

  • For articles about conflicts and battles that are part of one, use the navbox of the specific conflict. For example Battle of the Imperial Capital uses the template {{Great Garmillas War Battles}}.
  • For episodes in a series, use the navbox containing all episodes of a series. For example, Toward a Sea of Stars uses the template {{Space Battleship Yamato 2199 episodes}}.
  • For media from the remake continutity, use the navbox {{Space Battleship Yamato Reboots}}.
  • For all media in the franchise, use the navbox {{Space Battleship Yamato}}.
