Sasha Iscandar (SASHA ISCANDAR, Sasha Iscandar)[5] was the Second Princess of the planet Iscandar, the second Iscandarian messanger to the United Nations, and one of the last members of her species.
Biography[]
Second Princess[3] Sasha Iscandar was born into Iscandar's royal family as the younger sister of Queen Stasha Iscandar and the older sister of Princess Yurisha Iscandar.[2] After her birth, she underwent the ritual to enter the Sanctel, which made her a static, yet immortal memory tied to the existence of the vault.[4]
Queen Stasha sent her on a mission to the remote planet Earth in the Milky Way Galaxy, carrying a Wave-motion Core to help one of their spacecrafts achieve FTL travel. This way, the Earthlings could reach planet Iscandar and obtain a device that could cure their planet, ravaged by a conflict with the Greater Garmillan Empire. On January 17, 2199, Sasha piloted the Iscandarian ship Scheherazade on a course that takes it near Neptune and toward Mars, where she planned to rendezvous with a United Nations Cosmo Navy team. Operation M, an action launched by the UNCN against Garmillas forces, succeeded in distracting enemy attention from Sasha's vessel, but the Scheherazade encountered engine trouble. Sasha ejected in the Martian atmosphere and her escape pod crashed into the desert ground. When Lieutenants Daisuke Shima and Susumu Kodai arrived at the pod, Sasha was already dead, but safely clutching the device she had come to deliver.[4][1]
Legacy[]
Shima and Kodai respectfully gave the deceased Sasha a proper burial nearby and placed a simple marker on her gravesite.[1] As the UNCN battleship Yamato flied by Mars on its voyage to Iscandar, powered by Sasha's Wave-motion Core, a member of the crew, Lieutenant Yuki Mori, privately commemorated Sasha by sending a bouquet of flowers into space.[6]
Sasha very closely resembled Lieutenant Mori, so much so that Shima and Kodai were shocked by the similarity when they first met Mori. Kodai asked Mori about it in an indirect and awkward way a short time later.[1][7] Even Queen Stasha herself also mistook her for Sasha when Mori, Princess Yurisha, and other Yamato crewmembers were presented to Stasha upon their arrival on Iscandar.[8]
Following her discovery of Sasha's death, Stasha had the possibility to revive her via the Sanctel, but chose not to, as she firmly believed that the static immortality offered by the vault was not life. Instead, she gave her sister's name to her daughter, the first life born on Iscandar in eons.[4]
Appearance[]
Like her sisters,[2][8] Sasha Iscandar was an Iscandarian woman, with extremely long bonde hair.[1] She had amber eyes and long eyelashes.[9]
On her mission to Earth, she wore an elaborate bodysuit that was primarily white, accented with purple and adorned with golden details. The top featured a deep-cut neckline that extended down to her waist, which was covered only by a semi-transparent cloth and embellished with blue gemstones. The lower part of the outfit resembled a leotard with high-cut sides. Semi-transparent material separated the sleeves from the shoulders and the leotard from the thigh-high stockings. Her clothing also incorporated typical Iscandarian swirling patterns.[1][9]
Behind the scenes[]
She was redesigned from her original series counterpart by Nobuteru Yuki.[3]
