Professor Robert Redrowz was an Earthling researcher fascinated by the ancient Archelian civilization. While he was on the 11th planet, he was caught in a surprise attack by Gatlantis and taken to Yamato with other refugees. During the battle, he was turned into a living dead body by Gatlantis, and was directly linked to Emperor Zworder via Cosmo Wave.

Professor Robert Redrowz was a Earthling researcher fascinated by the ancient Archelians. Around early 2201,[7] by interacting with Garmillas citizens,[8] he discovered the presence of Archelian ruins on Stravase and requested permission to carry out an expedition to the planet to the U.N.F. General Staff office.[7] While he did receive his permit, as of late 2202, he was still stuck waiting on the 11th planet of the Solar system, waiting for the commander stationed on the planet, Ryu Hijikata of the Outer Defense Division, to approve his journey. Hijikata wanted to follow proper regulations and wait for all of Redrowz's equipment to be inspected thoroughly, much to the Professor's indignation.[1] As he was waiting for clearance, in December, Redrowz met with Toko Katsuragi, who was meant to become his new assistant, in reality, the woman was a clone of the Gatlantis Chief Minister Sifar Saberah, sent by the empire as vanguard for their coming invasion of the solar system.[9]
On December 24, 2202,[4] the 11th planet was attacked by Gatlantis.[1] The resulting battle wiped out the Outer Defense Division's forces almost entirely and caused a large number of civilian casualties. Redrowz was escorted with all survivors into a makeshift refuge inside an abandoned mine by the 7th Space Cavalry Regiment. Sargeant Major Saito. The regimental commander willingly accepted the challenge to fight until death but wished to see the civilians evacuated off the planet before doing so. However, as Redrowz reminded him, the only evacuation shuttle they had was far too small for everyone to get on board. Later, when the UNCN battleship Yamato arrived to rescue the survivors, Redrowz was escorted aboard the ship.[6]
Redrowz was turned into a living dead body
Sometime during the fighting, Redrowz was killed and turned into a living dead body by Gatlantis, under Katsuragi and the empire's control.[5] The night after the battle, he wandered toward the ruins of the 11th planet's settlement while in a trance, he was taken back to Yamato by Katsuragi.[2]

The battleship traveled to planet Stravase, where it was to meet with a Garmillas patrol fleet en route to Earth to put the civilians in their care, much to Redrowz's appreciation, who happily watched the archelian structures on the planet as Yamato descended through the atmosphere. At Katsuragi's order, Redrowz stole a Type 100 plane and departed toward the ruins. He was quickly followed by Yamato's acting commander, Susumu Kodai. At the ruins, Redrowz gave a passionate speech about the Archelias civilization, before his body was once again taken over by Gatlantis.[2]
Gatlantis's ruler, Great Emperor Zworder, controlled him via telepathy.[2] Through Redrowz, the sovereign introduced himself to Kodai and revealed that three other living dead bodies had been hidden aboard the Garmillas flotilla, ready to explode and doom the civilians the ships were carrying. Redrowz was then remotely detonated by the Emperor.[3]

Redrowz was a man deeply passionate about his job and greatly fascinated by Archelias.[2] He butted heads with Hijikata due to the latter's strict adherence to bureaucracy, which impeded his work as a researcher.[1] After being turned into a living dead body, he still retained his consciousness, but he could enter states of trance during which his body was under Gatlantis's control and he was fully devoided of his will.[2]

Robert Redrowz was deisgned by Shinichi Yamaoka.[10] He is voiced by Takaya Hashi in Japanese and by Chris Messersmith in English.

- Whenever Redrowz's body is under Gatlantis's control, his glasses become opaque.[2]
