The police force is a military police division of the United Nations Joint Forces responsible for handling the security of the underground cities.[1] They are staffed by members of the United Nations Cosmo Force.[3]
Members of the police force were supposed to make up the entirity of the security department aboard the Cosmo Navy battleship Yamato, but the department's first head, Shinya Itou, actually came from the U.N.F.'s intelligence department, while his second-in-command, Toru Hohina, came from the Far East Staff 6th Strategy Section.[4]
