The Pluto Frontline Base[2] was a military base of the Great Garmillas Empire set up on the dwarf planet Pluto during the Great Garmillas War. It was used by the empire to carry out a long-range bombardment of the Earth with planet bombs. It was the headquarters of the Teron Attack Force and was under the command of Colonel Valcke Schulz, with Major Guelf Ganz serving as deputy commander and Major Wol Jarletora serving as Staff Officer.[3][4]

The Pluto Frontline Base was established early into the Great Garmillas War by the Teron Attack Force, a space armored brigade of second-class garmillan soldiers, after they terraformed the dwarf planet Pluto, turning it into an icey desert.[2][1] The base was used as the centerpoint of imperial offense in the Solar System, from there objects of the Kuiper Belt were transformed in planet bombs through the usage of a Reflective Satellite Cannon and were used to bombard the Earth. The first bomb fell on April 2, 2192,[5] from that point up until early 2199, the bombings did not stop and eventually the Earth's surface was reduced to a radioactive desert.[1][6]
The Pluto Frontline Base was bombed by Yamato and its fighters
On February 14, 2199, the earth battleship Yamato carried out Operation M2 against the pluto base. Initially the earthlings were not able to locate the facility due to a concealment field that had been put around it, but eventually a pilot managed to sight a squadron of fighters taking off, which gave away the base's real location. The Pluto Frontline Base and most of the Terror Attack Force's assets were wiped out by Yamato's subsequent bombing, with only Colonel Schulz managing to escape abord his flagship. He recieved orders from imperial command to continue to hunt down the earthling battleship and to either destroy it, or die trying.[6][7]
