The Moon is the Earth's natural satellite. It's been a central strategic location during the Garmillas War and the home of various significant structures under the Earth Federation. It's currently undergoing reconstruction after it suffered damage in the Golem Assault Battle.

The United Nations Cosmo Force set up a base on the Moon some time prior to 2199. During the Great Garmillas War, the satellite became the last line of defense of the Terran species and the home of the Lunar Area Army under the control of Space Defense Command.[3][4] On February 9, 2199,[5] the lunar base was attacked by a Garmillas carrier, leading to severe losses among the ranks of the 7th Space Cavalry Regiment.[1]

Following the end of the conflict, the lunar base was used as the headquarters of the Lunar Air Corps and the testing ground for next generation fighters. It also became the home of the Garmillas Empire's embassy to the Earth Federation and of a new medical facility that took care of children suffering from Planet Bomb Syndrome.[6][7][2]
On June 2, 2203,[8] during the Golem Assault Battle, the Moon facilities were evacuated before the satellite's surface was hit by a devastating beam from the Ark of Destruction.[9] The attack caused the Moon to lose 21% of its original mass.[10] The resulting debris began falling onto the Earth, causing a constant metheor shower to hit the planet for the following months. The Earth Federation immediately begun a reconstruction plan managed by the cruiser Ginga, by 2203, 7.5% of the Moon had been reconstructed.[11] The project is still undergoing as of 2205.[12]
