Meria Ricke (MERIA RICKE, Meria Ricke)[2] was a member of the Great Imperial Garmillas Astro Fleet and Lt. Commander Fomt Berger's lover.
History[]
Ricke and Berger had become lovers well before her posting to Berger's unit. During their time as a couple, Berger was also acquainted with her elder sister and an officer in the Garmillan fleet, Neredia Ricke, and the three of them enjoyed off-duty periods together as friends. After her military training was finished, she sent a message to Berger, excitedly informing him that she had received her first assignment,[3] which was coincidentally was his own unit.[2]
Soon afterward, Ricke's ship was hit by weapons fire from forces of the Gatlantis Empire.[3][2] Ricke was pinned underneath debris as a chain reaction was building in energy tanks near her location. Berger raced to rescue her, but before he could reach her, a bulkhead closed between them. Ricke looked up at him through a window just as the energy tanks exploded and consumed her.[2]
Ricke's death scarred Berger physically and emotionally, and drove him toward disrespectful and reckless behavior that sometimes bordered on suicidal. His depression was ameliorated somewhat when he became acquainted with a human woman who looked almost exactly like Ricke.[2]
Appearance[]
Meria Ricke was a blue-eyed, red-haired, young Garmillan woman. She bore an uncanny resemblance to the Earthling Mikage Kiryu. As a civilian, she wore a blue Garmillan dress, with a large white collar decorated with black details; along with long blue gloves. In service, she tied her hair in a ponytail and wore the Garmillas military's form-fitting combat suit.[2]
