Admiral Valsey's personal flagship, the Medaluza.
The Medaluza was Admiral Valsey's personal flagship.
Specifications and Armament[]
The Medaluza is truly a one of a kind and unique experimental warship that was created by the White Comet Empire. It's primary armament consists of a front mounted facing Magma Flamestrike Gun, an extremely powerful and deadly effective weapon that is a far superior equivalent to that of Earth's Wave-motion Gun weaponry, due to the impressive Magma Flamestrike Gun having a far greater range, making it able to hit enemies from a safe distance. The devastating weapon is also capable of firing and recharging in seconds.
As for secondary armament the Medaluza is also equipped with several laser weapons turrets for offensive purpose's when backed into a corner. However these weapons are less effective compared to the Magma Flamestrike Gun. ("Space Battleship Yamato 2")
As for defensive capabilities, the Medaluza is also equipped with added layers of armor for protection. However, this won't protect it for long. ("Space Battleship Yamato 2")
History[]
Origins[]
The Medaluza was the primary flagship of Admiral Valsey's main fleet. It remains unclear as to when exactly was it built and commissioned prior to the Earth-White Comet Empire War conflict.
Space Battleship Yamato 2[]
During the Earth-White Comet Empire War conflict, Admiral Valsey as well as his personal flagship, the Medaluza, was put in charge of the White Comet Empire's main warfleet, stationed at Procyon and Sirius and thus were both missed by the Yamato during its journey to planet Telezart.
The Medaluza and the rest of Valsey's fleet were finally given orders to commence the invasion of Earth's solar system. However their fleet movements did not go unnoticed as Commander Ryu Hijikata immediately ordered his flagship, the Andromeda, and most of Earth's fleets to move against orders and to make a stand at Saturn, despite his superior officer, Heikuro Todo's concerns.
Along the way, Admiral Valsey's fleet encountered a surveillance satellite. Admiral Valsey immediately ordered it destroyed. The fleet then continued on their way towards Earth.
Once they neared the outskirts of Saturn, Admiral Valsey ordered Gern’s carrier fleet to get themselves ready to attack the already outnumbered Earth fleet in the upcoming Battle of Saturn. Unfortunately the carrier fleet commanded by Gern was utterly destroyed in a devastating sneak attack by the space battleship Yamato, which the news of it's destruction is sent directly to the flagship Medaluza. Admiral Valsey refuses to back down much to his crew's fears, but he reassures them that they still have their trump card, the Medaluza's primary main weapon, the Magma Flamestrike Gun. The Medaluza and her fleet increase their speed, intending to claim a quick and easy victory over their enemy.
The Medaluza and her fleet soon encountered the Hyperion Fleet, which attempt to slow their advance. However, Admiral Valsey anticipating this, realizes what was happening, and immediately orders his warships to immediately intercept the Hyperion Fleet and destroy them first.

The Hyperion fleet attacks, but their weapons barrages unfortunately missed, as the Comet Empire fleet returns fire, and one by one they destroy all Hyperion Fleet ships and killing everyone aboard the Hyperion. Afterwards the flagship of the Comet Empire Medaluza began regrouping all ships while attempting to break through the middle of the main Earth fleet and crush the remaining ships. However, the Earth fleet was moving into attack position. Seeing this, Admiral Valsey immediately ordered the Medaluza’s primary burst energy direct transport Magma Flamestrike Gun to fire. As it did, many Earth warships were instantly destroyed, forcing the Andromeda and the rest of Earth fleet to retreat to Saturn's ring. As it did so, Admiral Valsey gave the order for his forces to pursue the fleeing Earth ships.

The Medaluza and her fleet continued relentlessly pursuing their enemy while using the Magma Flamestrike Gun to slow their chances at escaping. It was at that time that the Yamato and the space carrier fleet came to assist the fleet by launching fighters, destroying some of the Comet Empire ships. In the asteroid ice rings surrounding Saturn, the Comet Empire's fleet was damaged by firing the cannon, including the Medaluza herself.
Realizing that the element of surprise was back on their side, Ryu Hijikata ordered the Earth fleet to swing around and counterattack the disoriented enemy fleet. The Earth fleet acted accordingly and turned around and fired at the White Comet Empire's fleet, destroying many ships with their shock cannons, leaving only the Valsey’s flagship the Medaluza, which attempted to flee, with the Andromeda and her fleet in hot pursuit. Aboard the now crippled Medaluza, Admiral Valsey was shocked upon being informed that his entire fleet was wiped out and that the space battleship Yamato and her carriers had finally managed to caught up with them and were literally right in front of them, effectively blocking their escape.
Refusing to surrender and seeing no other options but to turn and fight, Admiral Valsey immediately ordered his flagship Medaluza to swiftly swing around and using what weapons they have, they immediately targeted the Earth flagship Andromeda, intending to take them down with them.

The Medaluza then made a suicidal attack on the Earth fleet flagship Andromeda, it’s weapons missing her. The Earth fleet on Ryu Hijikata’s direct order's immediately returned fire and continued to mercilessly pound on the Medaluza until she finally exploded, taking along with Admiral Valsey, who begged Emperor Zwordar for forgiveness, before perishing in the massive explosion. Trivia[]
- The flagship Medaluza herself only appeared in the "Space Battleship Yamato 2" TV Series, as it has never ever before appeared in "Farewell to Space Battleship Yamato", since Admiral Valsey's flagship in that film was a massive carrier instead.
