The Mars Defense Front, also called the Mars Absolute Defense Area,[3] Mars Defense Area,[4] or Mars Offshore Front,[5][6] and identified as s3 in Operation S,[7] was a front of the Second Inner Planetary War and the Gatlantis Campaign.

In 2180, during the Second Inner Planetary War, the front saw battles between the United Nations Cosmo Navy and the Martian Autonomous Government Space Navy.[5] In 2203, it became a UNCF line of defense during the Gatlantis Campaign. The Decisive Battle off Mars was fought there. All Dreadnought-class Vanguard Starships produced specifically for the Mars Defense Front were painted with the red planet's color.[1][2][8]
