The Lunar medical facility[2] was an Earth Federation sanitorium of that treated children suffering from Planet Bomb Syndrome located on the Moon.
Overview[]

The facility seen from the outside
The Lunar medical facility was located under the Moon's surface. A circular opening covered by a glass window opened passed natural light to the internal of the sanitorium. The window was made out of two layers of glass with liquid flowing inbetween them, and served as shielding against cosmic radiation. The piece of crust that had been cut off to create the opening served as an emergency armor plate, and could be slided to cover it.[3][1]

View of the inside of the facility
The inside of the structure was a large covered park, with multiple trees and at least one small fountain. At its center was a circular walled section were the patients beds were placed. The beds were placed inside of small areas at Moon gravity, while the rest of the facility had artificial gravity equal to that of the Earth. Afdditionally, the beds were equipped with small screens depicting the patients' readings. Three bridges linked the central section to the rest of the structure. Multiple lights were placed along the bridges and the central section. At one side of the facility was located Laboratory1, surmounted by a large ovaloid structure, which also housed the guest house.[1] At night, soft blue lights where turned on.[4]
History[]

The facility is evacuated
Following the emergence of numerous cases of Planet Bomb Syndrome among newborn babies born after the end of the Great Garmillas War, the Lunar medical facility began treating them in hopes of slowing down their condition with the Moon's decreased gravity. One such patient was Tsubasa Kato, son of Saburo and Makoto Kato.[1] In May of 2203,[5] the Gatlantis Empire gifted the Earth with a drug that could cure Planet Bomb Syndrome,[6] allowing the facility's patients to be evacuated during the Decisive Battle off Mars, when the empire's forces began closing in near the Earth.[7]

The Lunar sanitorium is destroyed
On June 2,[5] during the Golem Assault Battle, the facility was blasted and destroyed by the Ark of Destruction, but its inhabitants had already been transferred to the Earth.[8]
