Leptapoda, also known as Prison Planet 17 or Prison Camp 17[2] under the Desler administration and Planet D[3] to Earthling data, is a planet in the Large Magellanic Cloud under the control of the Greater Garmillan Empire.

A desertic planet surrounded by an asteroid field, Leptapoda was used by the Greater Garmillan Empire as a prison planet used to house political prisoners and ideological criminals. The prison camp was under the control of Colonel Debarzo Bosen and was mainly staffed by Gami-loids.[2][1]
History[]

During the Desler administration, Leptapoda was used by the Greater Garmillan Empire as a prison planet, housing thousands political prisoners from the occupied Zaltz and the Gatlantis Empire. It was headed by the camp warden Colonel Debarzo Bosen, a violent man with a tendency to abuse and mistreat his prisoners, even hunting them for sport. Bozen also led an illegal weapon trafficking operation using Leptapoda as his headquarters.[1]
Ditz in prison
In late 2199, Admiral Gul Ditz, Supreme Commander of the Astro Fleet, was convicted of an attempted coup against Eternal Supreme Leader Abelt Desler, and was interned on Leptapoda. In the following weeks his loyalists organized a plan with the collaboration of a prison guard to lead an uprising and take control of the planet. The group arrived disguised as an inspection crew and liberated Ditz along with the other prisoners of the camp.[1][4]
The Earthling space battleship Yamato, which was heading to Leptapoda for repairs, was caught in the riot. After the dust settled, the battleship's crew held a meeting with Admiral Ditz.[1][5]
