The laser cannon is a type of beam weapon, usually turret-mounted, used by both the United Nations Cosmo Navy and the Great Garmillas Empire. It can serve in various roles ranging from anti-aircraft to anti-ship warfare.

Pulse laser guns were used by the UN, and later by the Earth Federation, as anti-aircraft guns. Yamato and the Dreadnought-class Vanguard Starship are both equipped with pulse laser turrets used as anti-aircraft guns. Pulse laser cannons are also equipped on the Type 2 Mobile Space Armor and the Cosmo Python fighter.[1][2][3][4]
Great Garmillas Empire[]

The Great Garmillas Empire uses laser cannons in three of its warship classes. The Gelvades-class Astro Battleship-Carrier is equipped with 10 anti-aircraft laser turrets, while the empire's dimensional submarines use a double, 33mm laser cannon turret as their main gun.[5][6]
While not technically a Garmillan design, but rather one from a civilisation conquered by Garmillas, the Pormelia-class Assault Carrier uses a large caliber laser cannon as its main armament.[7]
