The time fault control ship Laboratory Prometheus (U.N.C.F.-LP-001-2202), also known simply as Prometheus, is a modified Dreadnought-class Spaceship that operates in the time fault.

Technical specifications

The Laboratory Prometheus is a modified Dreadnought-class Spaceship, thus its general shape and armaments match with those of the class. The ship keeps its dimensional energy cancellers constantly active so that the speed of time inside of the ship matches with that of the Earth, thus providing life support inside of the time fault. The Laboratory Prometheus's bridge is larger than that of a regular Dreadnought-class and the bridge's window is blocked, information is instead displayed on video panels.

History

The Earth Federation discovered the existance of the time fault in 2201, it was quickly found out that due to the unique characteristics of the fault humans could not survive inside of it for extended periods of time, making it impossible to have a permanent menager. For this reason Laboratory Prometheus, originally a regular Dreadnought-class Spaceship, was modified into a control ship for the fault.

In early 2203 it was used for researching and completing cosmo reverse system for the battleship Ginga. In December 2203, the Laboratory Prometheus together with the Laboratory Epimetheus were the first ships to sight the battleship Yamato which suddenly appeared in the time fault after having disappeared for six months.
