The Krotoga-class Standard Battleship,^[3] previously codenamed Bolar Battleship Type A,^[2] is a class of standard battleship of the Bolar Federation's interstellar fleet.

Technical specification and Armaments[]

The Krotoga-class Standard Battleship is a mass-produced "standard" battleship known for its stable performance. Despite being developed in the middle of the 22nd century, it continues to be deployed to the frontlines. Current Krotogas have made significant technological advancements over Earth's space battleships, despite their basic technology being reverse-engineered from a crash-landed Krotoga around 2164.^[4] This is due to the soundness of the class's basic design. Depending on the time of construction, some ships have slight differences in the color of their positron beams.^[3]

Like all other Bolar ships, the Krotoga-class uses a concealment system that keeps its main armament interior to the hull, and only makes it appear during battle. This is presumed to be because the ships of the Bolar Federation often move through the dense space of the interstellar medium.^[2]

The Krotoga-class Standard Battleship was developed by the Bolar Federation as the result of the Bolar Federation Perpetual Administration Bureau's Project 13, which aimed to mass-produce "standard" battleships with stable performance. The Krotoga-class fit the request perfectly, and its design was sound enough that it continues to be deployed to this day, despite being more than 50 years old.^[3]

Sometimes before 2164,^[5] an unnamed Krotoga-class crashlanded on Mars. The wreck was found and reversed engineered by the Marsnoid colonists, who used its technology to create the first Earthling space navy in history. The technology eventually made its way in the hands of the United Nations, which led to the founding of the United Nations Cosmo Navy.^[4] Many members of the Bolar Federation such as the former Governor-General of Galman, Vilke Boroze himself showed absolute disgust and mistrust for humanity due to them advancing themselves using stolen Bolar technology.

Dozens of Amanga-classes, Krotoga-classes and one Ganonda-class were present on planet Galman in August of 2205, and kept Abelt Desler's flagship under surveillance in Garmann's orbit while the Eternal Supreme Leader negotiated with Governor-General Vilke Boraze. However, the ship was scuttled in an operation to seize the planet, causing a wave-motion resonance phenomenon that rendered the Bolar fleet incapable of action. The Desler fleet immediately attacked the immobilized vessels, destroying them all except the Ganonda which was left intact.^[1]

Three Krotoga-classes was part of the Frontier Patrol Fleet 584 under the command of the Political Officer Vilke Boroze aboard the carrier Labrokov. In October 2207, the fleet were carrying out regular incursion in the Earth Federation's territorial waters near the 11th planet and were soon intercepted by the 11th Escort Corps of the Cosmo Navy and ordered to retreat. During the clash, both units encountered the Dezariam space fortress Ground Reverse emerging from the rear of Boroze's fleet. Captain Djerba Gudan then gave permission from Labrokov to open fire on the Grand Reverse, but it had no effect and Political Officer Vilke Boroze ordered the fleet to retreat temporarily.^[6] Believing to have encountered the Light of the Witch of Uralia, Boroze reported to the homeland, and High Commissioner Belm von Bemlarze and First Secreatary Lyudmi Darya gave him command of a number of ships to invade the Earth Federation and find more about what had happened. However, the fleet was rapidly intercepted by the Dezariam battleship Grodez and her accompanying Hyades-class Destroyers escorts and were nearly wiped out.^[7]
