The Hyades-class Destroyer is a class of escort destroyer that’s built and operated by the Dezariam Army that participated in the Iscandar Incident and the Dezariam Invasion of Earth.

Armament and Technical Specifications

The Hyades-class Destroyer is the most common ship in the fleets of the Dezariam Army. It is armed with two triple heavy nucleon α turrets, typically used as secondary guns for battleships. As a result, its firepower is slightly inferior to that of other Dezariam vessels. Unlike the Modified Pleiades-class or the Pleiades-class Assault Battleship, the Hyades-class Destroyer is equipped with only one main engine and lacks auxiliary machinery. This limitation does not redue its maneuverability or ability to make sharp turns.

Additionally, its armor is not as durable compared to other ships. Overall, the Hyades-class Destroyer has less offensive and defensive capability than contemporary Dezarian warships, primarily due to its lower energy output. This reduced output also prevents it from carrying aircraft, as it does not have enough energy to support them, which means it lacks a flight deck.

History

In 2205, many Hyades-class destroyers were part of the Magellan Dispatch Force, lead by captain Deda's flagship, the Great Pleiades. They were dispatched to capture planet Iscandar after its double planet, Garmillas, was destroyed.

A good portion of the Hyades-class destroyers were sunk during the Battle in the Vorzon System in an operation carried out by the Earth Federation Cosmo Navy 65th Escort Corps. The remaining ships of the class, along with the rest of the fleet, were wiped out when Queen Stasha of Iscandar had her planet self-destruct.

Hyades-classes are deployed in the fleet for the Invasion of the Ground Reverse in October 2207. At the end of the battle, 4 Hyades-class destroyers captured and directed the battleship-carrier Hyuga to land. Following the conclusion of the Invasion of the Ground Reverse, at least 8 Hyades-class destroyers led by the battleship Grodez were ordered to confront and attack a large Bolar Federation fleet that had invaded Earth Federation space under the command of political officer Vilke Boroze.
