The Homeland Air Defense Corps,[1] also shortened to Air Defense Corps,[2] was a UNCF division tasked with protecting the Earth's air zone during the Garmillas War. It was part of Space Defense Command under Admiral Ryu Hijikata. It was organized in various squadrons including the Far-East District Air Defense Force's[3] 810th Air Squad headed by Lt. J.G. Saburo Kato, the top ace pilot of the UNCF's air forces.[1][2][4] The Air Defense Corps' base is located underground, including the runway, with only the launch gate opening on the side of a cliff.[5]
On February 9, 2199, a Garmillas carrier attacked a hidden shipbuilding facility off of Cape Bonomisaki, the Air Defense Corps was deployed to stop the fighters deployed by the carrier.[2][6]
