The Grodez-class Annihilation Battleship, also identified as the Heavy-class by the Yamato crew, is an advanced battleship class used by the Dezariam Army and developed by Mother Dezariam. It is designed based on the battle data collected during the Iscandar Incident, marking a significant shift in the space naval tactics employed by Dezariam after that conflict.

The class's lead ship, the Grodez, which was tasked with tracking down the "fragments of Iscandar" during the Dezariam Invasion of Earth. This mission led it to engage in multiple clashes with the Earth Federation space battleship Yamato.

The Grodez-class Annihilation Battleship is a state-of-the-art warship model in the Dezariam Army. Its elongated hull shape sets it apart from other Dezariam vessels, making it resemble ships from Earth or the Garmillas Empire, particularly the Yamato-class, which serves as its inspiration.

At least one ship of this class, the Grodez, has a dedicated room for storing spare bodies, enabling a Dezarian's consciousness to transfer freely between two bodies.

Command functions

The Grodez-class signifies a change in the operational methods of Dezarian fleets, serving as a traditional flagship rather than a mobile headquarters—a role previously held by the Modified Pleiades-class Assault Battleships and space fortresses of the Golba Class.

For this reason, the Grodez-class shares several characteristics with the Autoplanet Golba: it is equipped with a Capture Field, which, although smaller, offers comparable functions and performance. Additionally, the Trans Phase Armor of the Grodez-class is equivalent to that of the Golba Class. The main generator for the armor is located around the bridge, while phase energy radiation antennas are positioned on both the left and right sides of the ship.

Reflecting its predecessors' role as a mobile headquarters, the bridge of the Grodez-class is designed to enhance command capabilities. A command screen covers nearly the entire floor, displaying various types of information. This setup also allows the captain, who serves as the fleet commander, to issue direct orders to all ships within the fleet.

The Grodez-class is equipped with four auxiliary propulsion units, providing it with superior mobility compared to the Modified Pleiades-class. It also features a more advanced and miniature version of the stacked attitude control units found on the Modified Pleiades-class, which include three rectifying fins located on the backs of paddle-shaped protrusions at the hull's bottom center.

The shape of these protrusions grants the Grodez-class a high range of motion, resulting in exceptional maneuverability. This includes powerful propulsion and enhanced attitude control, thanks to the ship's large thrusters positioned at various points throughout its hull.

Armaments and fighters

The Grodez-class is among the most heavily armed vessels in the Dezariam Army. Its arsenal includes three triple heavy β turrets, twelve torpedo tubes (six at the bow and six at the stern), twelve side missile tubes, ten missile launchers (six on the shipboard side and four on the other side), and twelve anti-aircraft machine guns. It also features a Capture Field and a variety of other armaments concealed within the hull.

The most formidable weapon of the Grodez-class is the dual Infinite β Cannon, capable of annihilating an entire fleet of warships. Additionally, the Grodez-class carries a complement of fighters, including Heavy Combat Fighters Alctea, and Planetary Assault Specifications Assault Fighters Caterpillar.

History

The Grodez-class was developed by Mother Dezariam following the Iscandar Incident, in which Dezarian forces faced a combined fleet of Earth and Garmillan warships. The Great Loss had resulted in Dezariam losing significant amounts of data regarding military tactics from previous centuries. However, the conflict allowed them to rediscover the old space fleet concept and integrate it into the Dezarian Army. The data gathered, particularly from the space battleship Yamato, played a crucial role in the development of the Grodez-class.

A new operational plan was created, designating the Grodez-class as the flagship of Dezarian fleets, a role previously held by the Golba Class of space fortresses. The lead ship of this class, the Grodez, was assigned to Major Ramber. During the Dezariam Invasion of Earth in 2207, the ship was tasked with locating the "fragments of Iscandar," the Iscandarian hybrid Sasha Iscandar Kodai and the space battleship Yamato. These two components were essential for creating a Cosmo Reverse System and to alter history.

After reaching the 23rd century through a Spacetime Node located at the center of the Milky Way, the Grodez led a small unit in the destruction of a Bolar Federation fleet. It then turned its attention to the Yamato. Following a failed attempt to seize it at the Gatlantis Belt, the Grodez participated in a successful operation to capture Iscandar Kodai.
