The Grodez-Type Heavy Battleship (named after the first vessel of the class) was a formidable, yet rarely encountered warship utilized by the Dark Nebula Empire.
Armament and Specifications[]
The Grodez-Type Heavy Battleship was a new breed of experimental warship, designed to eventually replace the Pleiades-class Battleship. ("Be Forever Yamato")
In terms of armament the Grodez-Type Heavy Battleship is armed with a single nose bow mounted heavy Beam Cannon that’s a slightly more powerful version of the Pleiades-class Battleship’s own Beam Cannons. It only other weapons are two hidden bow mounted Beta Particle Gun weaponry, that theorized to be effective enough to even destroy the space battleship Yamato herself. ("Be Forever Yamato")
The Grodez-Type Heavy Battleship is also equipped with a thick layer of Armored Plating that can protect it against all forms of conventional weaponry used by Earth, with the exception of the Wave Motion Gun, which is powerful enough to literally destroy the Grodez-Type Heavy Battleship's. History[]
To date, only five known vessels of the class were ever encountered by the space battleship Yamato in the year 2202 during The Battle of Planet Dezarium. When the Yamato was heading back towards Earth, Great Emperor Skulldart himself and Princess Sada herself both took notice of this and angrily refused to let the Yamato and her crew escape, as he vows to bury them. Suddenly, a fleet of five of the Dark Nebula Empire's newest Grodez-Type Heavy Battleships led by the flagship Grodez herself, instantly warped out directly in front of the Yamato and immediately opened fire upon the Earth battleship, damaging her. After realizing that the enemy had completely tricked them into surrendering, the Yamato crew refused to give up, and decided to finish their mission; to stop the Dark Nebula Empire from detonating the Hyperion Bomb and save Earth at all costs. The Yamato quickly turned around and immediately laid in a course towards the enemy homeworld (that was disguised as Earth), the Grodez’s commander quickly take's notice of this, and ordered his fleet to pursue, while still firing relentlessly upon the Yamato.
Great Emperor Skulldart then orders his fleet to prepare to utterly destroy the Yamato with the their Beta Particle Gun weaponry. But before they could, the Yamato quickly turns around and fires their Wave Motion Gun at the Grodez and its fleet, utterly destroying them. Unfortunately, the tachyon-based energy of the Wave Gun has an unexpected reaction with the beta particle energy systems of the exploding enemy ships. A huge cascade explosion forms over Earth, burning up much of its surface. The Earth, where Sasha remained, dissolves away in fire.
Within the fire is revealed the nightmarish and extremely terrifying demonic black skeleton true form of a planet, its twisting ribs formed into a sphere. It is not Earth, but the Dark Nebula Empire’s own mother planet, Dezarium. Sasha was thought to have perished, however, she manages to survive the incineration of the surface by escaping into the planet's lower levels. ("Be Forever Yamato")
