The Great Loss refers to a significant loss of historical data that occurred in the year 2798, according to the account of the future provided by Dezariam.[1] This event was triggered by the opening of a spatial rupture at the site of the destroyed planet Saturn, which unleashed a wave of unknown matter that affected the entire solar system, destroying most forms of life within it and wiping out the Earth Empire.
A crucial factor in the Great Loss was the devastation of the mainframe of the AI Dezariam, which dealt a severe blow to the preservation of historical records. As a result of this massive data loss, the Dezarians faced uncertainty regarding their own history. They were forced to reconstruct their past as best as they could, leading to various inconsistencies in their accounts.
History[]
During the Gatlantis Campaign of 2203, the Earth Federation's wave motion gun fleet extensively used wave motion guns against the invading Gatlantis Empire during the Battle of the Saturn Space Region,[3] despite warnings from Iscandar that the weapon could potentially damage the universe itself.[4]
The destroyed Earth following the opening of the spatial rupture
In 2798, the area that was once the planet Saturn witnessed the opening of a spatial rupture. From this rupture, unknown matter spread throughout the entire solar system, leading to the destruction of entire planets and most forms of life within it. Earth suffered severe impacts, losing much of its mass and transforming into a hollow, rocky sphere resembling a ribcage.[1]
A reconstructed account of Earth's history is broadcasted
The mainframe of the AI Mother Dezariam was located on Earth, and its destruction resulted in the loss of a significant portion of humanity’s historical data. After the fall of the Earth Empire and the artificial evolution of Earthlings into the Dezarians, reconstructing Earthling history became a difficult task. While the Great Loss left just enough data to allow for a rough reconstruction, various contradictions existed among the different accounts.[1][2] Notably, the existence of the space battleship Yamato, which had played a pivotal role in both the Garmillas War and the Gatlantis Campaign—saving humanity from extinction—was among the knowledge lost when the mainframe was destroyed.[5]
During the Dezariam Invasion of Earth, where the Dezarians from the year 3199 invaded the Earth of 2207, they publicly addressed the Great Loss.[1] However, they did not disclose that this event had preserved records of their own historical interference and that they were, in fact, acting in accordance with those records.[6]
