This article is about the Gostoke Class Missile Battleship from Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2202. For its counterpart in Space Battleship Yamato 2 and Farewell to Space Battleship Yamato, see Missile Cruiser.
The Gostoke Class Missile Battleship was a warship model in service of the Gatlantis Empire, it saw significant action in the Gatlantis Campaign, most notably as part of the Gorland Fleet headed by Commander-in-Chief Gorland. An unmanned variant named the Gostoke Genocide Slave,[4] or simply Genocide Slave,[5] was developed in late 2203.
Armaments and Technical Specifications[]

Flagship Gorland during Terezart Landing Operation
The Gostoke Class Missile Battleship[6] was one of the largest and most heavily armed warship classes to serve in the Gatlantean military. It was equipped with two ultra-giant missiles on the bow capable of annihilating entire enemy fleets, which can be replaced by other warheads or even by landing pods depending on strategic demands.[1] The battleships of the class were also armed with 29 other missiles as well as 2 beam turrets and 7 hybrid turrets capable of shooting both beams and missiles.[1] Some of the many missiles could be reloaded and fired continuously, so it is thought that the ship was designed for wave attacks or saturation attacks using a large number of missiles.[7]
An unmanned variant of the Gostoke Class, known as the Gostoke Genocide Slave[4] or simply as the Genocide Slave, was developed prior to the Golem Assault Battle and saw action at the end of the Gatlantis Campaign.[5] It was almost identical to a standard Gostoke, but some weapons were removed and the bridge was enlarged.[7]
The Gostoke-class's hull structure is almost symmetrical from top to bottom. The ship was originally designed with only the upper surface, but this was changed to the current structure in order to improve striking power. The bridge is located high in the upper center of the hull, and is characterized by a large window in the front. It is manned by a maximum of four people plus the commander. The commander's position is equipped with a holographic screen. The bridge also has two navigation cosoles in front of the CO's post.[7]
History[]
In 2202, two Gostoke Class participated in the Invasion of Planet Terezart where they bombed the planet Terezart by firing 2 ultra-giant missiles each.[8] As of March 2203, at least seventy-eight Gostoke-classes were serving on Telezart as part of the Gorland Fleet. The entire fleet was destroyed by the Wave-motion gun fired by Yamato during the Terezart Landing Operation.[9]

Multiple Gostoke armed with Annihilation Missiles during the Attack on the annihilation missile fleet
At the start of the Gatlantean invasion of the solar system, an unmanned variant of the Gostoke Class, known as the Genocide Slave was in development.[4] In May 2203, at the end of the Battle of Saturn, multiple Gostoke-classes fired Annihilation Missiles at the Earth Federation's Yamanami Fleet, severely damaging the Earthling flagship Andromeda and sinking numerous ships including the Andromeda Class Apollo Norm.[10] Multiple Gostoke-classes along with hundreds of Calaklum Class battleships attacked the Walls of Garmillas Subject used by the Earth-Garmillas joint forces during the Attack on the Annihilation Missile Fleet.[11]

Various Gostoke Class during Golem Assault Battle
By the time of the Golem Assault Battle, in early June, the various Gostoke Genocide Slaves with black hulls had been completed and were sent into battle against the Garmillas fleet outside the Comet City Empire, and against Yamato while it travelled through the Nurture Room.[12]
At the end of the battle, all of the remaining battleships were deactivated after Emperor Zworder activated Golem, killing all Gatlanteans.[13]

Notes[]
- Inside of Commander-in-Chief Gorland's eponymous flagship there was a coming-of-age room” for Gatlantean larva bodies.[9] It's unknown whether this room was present in all Gostokes or not.[7]
