The Ginga Fleet was a one of the main UNCN fleets under command of Lieutenant Commander Saki Todo during the Gatlantis Campaign, together with the Great Imperial Garmillas Astro Fleet it held the defense line near Saturn during the Attack on the annihilation missile fleet.

History

Prior to the official beginning of the Gatlantis Campaign, the Ginga Fleet together with a complement of Garmillan forces remained in stand by near Jupiter. By May 11, 2203 the fleet had been joined by its flagship Ginga, which had been in construction in the Earth's time fault, and it moved in near Saturn to aid the remaining forces of the Yamanami Fleet, leading to the Attack on the Annihilation Missile Fleet.

By using a series of Walls of Garmillas Subject, the joint Fleet was able to stop the advance of the Gatlantis forces and of the Ark of Destruction, however, after days of stalling, the Ark broke the anti-warp field and warped towards Mars, leading to the beginning of the Decisive Battle off Mars.

Following the end of the hostilities at Saturn the fleet split up, Ginga received the order to start preparations for Project G, but eventually Captain Saki Todo deactivated the ship's command AI and joined Andromeda at the end of the Third Battle of Mars.

The few surviving UNCN ships, including presumably those from the Ginga Fleet, regrouped at the Temporary Docks off Mars for extensive repairs.
