The FS-class Space Torpedo Boat is a relatively small and fast space boat of the Great Imperial Garmillas Astro Fleet. It's the smallest vessel capable of submerging itself in subspace.
An FS-class Space Torpedo Boat code-named the "suckerfish" saw action in the Battle of the Rainbow Star Cluster in 2199.
Armaments and Technical Specifications[]
The FS-class Space Torpedo Boat is the smallest warship with capable of dimensional diving, it's an high mobility aircraft capable of performing anti-ship combat, reconnaissance, convoy escort missions, security missions in remote areas and commerce sabotage operations. A spatial wake damping device installed in the rear jet nozzle enables covert action in normal space.[1]
The boat captain, a helmsman, and a telegraph and telegrapher are situated in the boat's front cockpit while three crewmembers including an engineer and a torpedo launcher operator stay on the boat's insides. The rear laser cannon is operated by two gunners.[1]
It has various variants, including a heavily armed model with an additional turret on the underside of the hull, a positron gunboat with a positron cannon instead of the torpedo launcher, a space minelayer model, and a space sweeper.[2]
History[]
The FS-class Space Torpedo Boat's basic design recieved high praise for its characteristics, such as the size and maneuverability of the hull, leading to the production of various derivative models.[2]
At least two FS-class Space Torpedo Boats were present on planet Balun in 2199, when Ensign Hiroki Shinohara was conducting reconnaissance in search of the subspace gate leading to the Large Magellanic Cloud. Shinohara was chased by two FS-classes and fired upon by machine guns, before finally menaging to escape.[3]
One FS-class Space Torpedo Boat nicknamed Suckerfish was brought by the dimensional submarine UX-01 on a mission to kidnap Princess Yurisha Iscandar from the earth battleship Yamato. UX-01 emerged from subspace to release the suckerfish which attached itself to the stern of the battleship undetected. A Zaltzi assault team of four accessed an airlock and stealthily boarded Yamato. Norren Oshetto, the only platoon member who survived, brought Lt. Yuki Mori, who had been mistaken for Yurisha, back to the suckerfish. UX-01 emerged from the subspace to retrieve the Torpedo boat before finally diving back.[4]
