The Enceladus Defense Unit is a UNCN division stationed on Saturn in 2203 during the Gatlantis Campaign. It took part in the Battle of Saturn were it was almost entirely wiped out.

The forces of the Enceladus Defense Unit at the Battle of Saturn
On May 8, 2203,[2] the Enceladus Defense Unit was stationed on Saturn under the command of Captain Tetsutaro Ozaki, in preparation of the Gatlantis Empire's coming invasion. During a patrol, thousands of Calaklum-class Battleships from one of the Gatlantean Seventh Mobile Fleet warped-out and attacked. Captain Ozaki sent an emergency message to the Yamanami Fleet on Earth's orbit asking for reinforcements. Many ships were destroyed as a result of the Gatlantis Empire's initial attack. As the Gatlantis flagship appeared along with four other ships, Captain Ozaki ordered his air squadron to attack. However, the enemy launched multiple new suicide ships and destroyed almost all Enceladus Defense Unit vessels, leaving only eight Escort Ships, six Kongo-classes, and one Dreadnought-class. Yamanami's fleet arrived just in the nick of time, saving Ozaki and his last men.[1]
