The Earth Federation Air Force (EFAF), originally known as the United Nations Air Force, is the air force branch of the Earth Federation Defense Force.
Organization[]
The United Nations Air Force is one of the Earth Federation Defense Force's four service branches. It operates two commands: Strategic Air Command and Air Mobility Command. Initially, it divided its air defense duties with the UN ground force. However, due to the destruction of most Ground Force and Air Force assets during the garmillan bombardment of the Earth from 2192 to 2199, the role of ground and air defense of the planet was passed to the UN Cosmo Force, the only branch of the U.N.F. still standing by the last year of the 22nd century.[1][4]
By 2207,[5] it operates the Limited Autonomous Air Defense System.[2][3]

The United Nations Air Force is a branch of the U.N.F. and played a major role in the organization until the start of the Great Garmillas War, during which most of its assets were destroyed by the bombings of Earth carried out by the aliens from 2193 up until 2199. This, paired with the star-faring nature of the enemy, helped the United Nations Cosmo Navy to rise to a place of prominence in the joint forces.[1]
The Limited Autonomous Air Defense System over Earth in 2207
Following the end of the Great Garmillas War, it passed under the jurisdiction of the Earth Federation together with the rest of the U.N.F. and was eventually renamed to Earth Federation Air Force. By 2207,[5] it operated the Limited Autonomous Air Defense System, a force of 50 spaceships composed of 49 fully unmanned Unmanned Fleet Interceptor Ajaxes and one Unmanned Fleet Command Ship Gladiator. The system was envisioned as an air defense force for each Earth Federation planet, meant to callobarate with atmospheric air force units.[2][3]
The unmanned fleet took part in the defenses against Dezariam's invading Ground Reverse in October 2207, but it was completely wiped out after an internal sabotage.[6]
