Earth is the third planet of the Solar System and orbits the Sun. The atmosphere consists mainly of nitrogen and oxygen with carbon dioxide as a byproduct. Ocean covers massive portions of the planet and large landmasses are largely inhabited by organisms, primarily by Humans - the sentient species of the planet. On the dawn of rising conflict between the Humans and the Gamilus, the foreign invaders launched "planet bombs" or meteorites and asteroids coated with massive and lethal amount of radiation and energy to crash on Earth leaving 5 billion survivors and wiping out half of humanity. Normally surface dwellers, the Humans on the impact sites and the surrounding area was eradicated, forcing remnants to move underground to shield from heavy radiation. The constant barrage of planet bombs have dried up the oceans and reduce the ice formations to bare minimum. Despite this, moisture can still be found at higher altitudes, as shown with the presence of clouds, although it is to be assumed that these clouds have high acidic concentration. Over time, radiation gradually found their way deeper into the ground, causing illness among the population of the underground cities This effect was eventually reversed upon the introduction of the Cosmo Cleaner D from Iscandar and the balance of the world returns to normal. This balance lasted a while, but the conflict between Galmon Empire and Bolar Federation caused a powerful missile to plummet into the Sun. As a result, irregular fusion pattern developed and the Sun was quickly transforming into a red giant that emits devastating heat. As a result, the Humans once again, has to take shelter in the underground city as the heat becomes unbearable. Upon the Yamato's return with weapon from Gratiana that reversed the effect of the missile, the planet was once again hospitable. [source?]
