This article is about the dimensional fault that appears in Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love. For the dimensional fault appearing in Space Battleship Yamato 2199, see Dimensional fault (2199). For dimensional faults in general, see Dimensional fault.

An artificial dimensional fault created by the Archelias civilization was the site of a battle between the Desler fleet and the Earthling battleship Yamato in early 2203.

Overview[]

Dimensional fault core

The dimensional fault's core, with the tubular structure coming out of it

At the core of the dimensional fault stood a large tubular structure which seamlessly fused regular space to the pocket dimension, giving its inside a different dimensional heirarchy than the rest of the fault. The structure had an outside diameter of 5.023 km, an inside diameter of 3.275 km, and a total length of 400208 km. It was estimated to be composed of BC6N and BC6N2 graphite, h-BN ad lonsdaleite. This structure also had the unique ability to stop Cosmo Wave telepathy.[1] It was made out of slates of rock, which gave it an irregular shape. However, these protuberance kept their mass in an adjacent dimension, showing only their volume much like the Archelian structures on planet Stravase. For this reason, scans of the structure read it as a perfect cylinder.[2]

Inside of the dimensional fault was filled with high-energy accelerated electrons and protons, the remains of a super nova, which made energy conversion via a Wave-motion Engine dangerous and could cause the engine to overheat and explode.[1]

History[]

The artifiicial dimensional fault was created by the Archalians eons ago. Supreme Leader Abelt Desler decided to use it as the battlefield were to ambush the Earthling battleship Yamato. His forces had been entrusted to him by the Gatlantean Emperor Zworder, who had also placed his spokesperson, Mil, aboard Desler's flagship Neu Deusura, to keep an eye on him via Cosmo Wave.[1]

Desler chose the fault due to the tubular structure at its center blocking Cosmo Wave telepathy, but also because of the side effects it had on Wave-motion Engines. He planned to make the Gatlantean ships he had been gifted to fight for him until the excessive energy conversion made them explode. To circumvent these effects, he kept a warp grid open behind Neu Deusura and sticked its engine out of it, thus making it take energy from regular space and not from the enclosed dimension. This also allowed Desler to shoot his ship's Desler cannon.[3] During the battle, Yamato entered inside of the tubular structure and Desler tried to sink it by shooting the Desler cannon at the tube. However, the Earthlings used the blast wave generated by the cannon to reach warp velocity without having to activate the engine and warped away safely.[1]

Mil was held prisoner with shards blocking his telepathy floating around in his cell

The structure's destruction caused the entire fault to dissipate. To semi-permanently block Mil's telepathy he took pieces of the destroyed tube and put them floating in his cell. Having silenced Zworder's eyes and ears on his ship, Desler joined up with a group of supporters and broke free of the Gatlantis Empire's control.[1][4]
