A group of spaceships perform a dimensional dive through the dimensional wall
A dimensional boundary, also refferred to as the dimensional wall[1] or as the event horizon, is the boundary layer that separates two dimensions. The act of crossing the dimensional boundary between the universe and subspace is called dimensional diving.[2] The wall between the higher dimension and regular space can only be crossed through a dimensional node. Descending from the higher dimension requires no energy, but ascending requires near infinite energy.[3]
The dimensional boundary possesses a self-repairing ability. By manipulating quantum fields and modulating gravity, it is possible to locally dissolve the dimensional boundary. This dissolution leads to an intersection between subspace and regular space, creating a dimensional fault. However, the self-repairing nature of the dimensional boundary quickly closes the faut.[4]
The boundary between the universe and at least one dimensional fault could be opened by firing a Dimensional Wave-motion Gun.[5]
