The Dimensional Submarine UX-01 is a model of dimensional submarine developed by the Greater Garmillan Empire and currently in use by the Galman-Garmillas Forces. It is the first class of dimensional submarine ever developed, with its lead ship, the eponymous UX-01 being in service since the end of the 22nd century.

It's currently being produced and deployed as a subordinate vessel to the newer Zerandal-class Attack Dimensional Submarine.

Armament and Technical Specifications

Dimensional Submarines navigate in normal space with the same Gesh Tam engine used by all other Garmillas ships, during dimensional submergence the special Gesh Vual engine is used. The submarines are equipped with a multi-dimensional phase ballast tank to suppress the outflow of waste propulsion energy in subspace, and by diverting it, it controls the hull's ascent and sinking. To view into normal space, the Dimensional Submarines use periscopes capable of capturing not only visible light, but also x-rays and other wavelengths.

By 2203, the dimensional diving technology had evolved and now produced a blue hue instead of a red one. By the same time, a specialised equipment that allows dimensional submarines to carry a non-submersion capable vessel down in subspace had also been developed.

The dimensional submarines are equipped with 8 subspace torpedo launchers, two installed on the bow, two in the stern which are capable of hitting targets beyond the dimensional barrier, 8 missile launchers installed in the neck of the ship and on its upper surface, 1 positron turret on the forward deck, 1 laser cannon behind the ship's sail and 5 space mine laying devices on the rear deck.

History

Early service

The first ship of the class, UX-01, was developed under the Desler administration and was under the direct command of the Eternal Supreme Leader of Garmillas Abelt Desler. Command of the submarine was given to Commander Volf Fleurken and its existance was put under military secret.

The UX 01 engages Goer's fleet while protecting the Yamato

In early 2199 Lt. General Erich Domel requested special permission to use the ship in his campaign against the earth battleship Yamato to admiral Ditz, commander of the Astro Fleet and it subsequently engaged in battle with the Terrans during the Encounter with the Garmillas Dimensional Submarine and the Battle of the Rainbow Star Cluster. In May 2199 the UX-01 acted as Desler's escort as the Leader faked his own death to expose marshall Herm Zoellik's coup attempt. Following the fall of Desler's regime the UX-01 sided with the new garmillas provisional government and battled with a group of Desler loyalits during the Battle with Desler in Subspace.

Gatlantis War and beyond

By June 2203 three more ships of the class had been developed and they all served under Fleurken during the Golem Assault Battle, where they helped Yamato to reach the center of the Ark of Destruction by allowing her to performa dimensional dive.

In October 2205, the ships fought as part of the Desler Fleet during the Plane Galman Liberation Operation and subsequently during all battles in the Iscandar Incident. During the Battle of Bolzon the dimensional submarines lead a rescue operation to save the garmillas citizens stranded on Iscandar. During the conflict the second ship of the class was captured inside Autoplanet Golba and then destroyed.

Under Galman-Garmillas

Following the destruction of planet Garmillas and the founding of Galman-Garmillas in the Sagittarius Dwarf Galaxy, the former Garmillas Empire lost much of its naval strength from the Large Magellanic Cloud and began reorganizing its navy. With the formation of a new Dimensional Submarine Fleet positioned as the core of Galman-Garmillas' new strategy, the Dimensional Submarine UX-01 began being constructed and commissnioned as a subordinate vessel of the Zerandal-class Attack Dimensional Submarine.

Two submarines of the class were attached to the Yamato via gravity anchors to aide in its exploration of the Ganell Nebula in 2207.
