Deusura III (DEUSURA 3, Deusura 3), also spelled Deusura the 3rd and referred simply as Deusura, is a unique battleship-carrier of the Galman-Garmillas Astro Fleet and the flagship of the Home Planet Defense Fleet. Officially dubbed a Special 1st Class Astro Battleship-carrier, it served as the personal flagship of Supreme Leader Abelt Desler and of the Desler fleet between the Planet Galman Liberation Operation in 2205 and the founding of Galman-Garmillas in 2206.
It's the first Garmillan ship outfitted with a Geshtam Wall, the Garmillan version of the Wave-motion Shield.

The Planet Galman Liberation Operation[]
Deusura III after the liberation of Galman
Deusura III first participated in the Planet Galman Liberation Operation with the Desler fleet under Lieutenant General Ghader Talan's Command. After Galman was successfully liberated from the Bolar Federation, under the command of Supreme Leader Abelt Desler, Deusura III and the entire fleet returned to Garmillas ordered to assist the Immigrant Fleet after handing responsibility for Galman's security to Admiral Gul Ditz and his fleet.[1] On the way to Garmillas, Deusura III ran into the 28th Evacuation Fleet sent a visual signal; 'Long live Desler, We'll see you in a new world, Galman'. Desler's flagship replied; 'I pray for your safe voyage'.[8]
The Iscandar Incident[]
Deusura III and the fleet arrived at the Garmillas and attacked an unknown object that had destroyed several immigrant ships and was trying to destroy Garmillas itself. As multiple other similar objects began their attack, Deusura III, Lamvea, and Balmes evacuated the few survivors they could from the planet. Lamvea and the Berger fleet were then suddenly attacked by an unknown fleet, Deusura III fired its Desler cannon and destroyed several enemy vessels, before looking powerless as the unknown enemy, Dezariam, warped away the entire planet Iscandar.[9]
Deusura III and its fleet managed to reach Iscandar and fought the Magellan Dispatch Force to protect the Immigrant Fleet. Deusura III suffered damage to the Geshtam Wall Output before the 65th Escort Corps came to their aid.[10] During the Battle in the Vorzon System, Deusura III and Hyuga fired their Wave-motion Guns to protect Yamato and Asuka.[11]

After Iscandar was again taken by Dezariam to another system, Deusura III and the entire joint fleet began the Immigrant Fleet Rescue Operation and acted as bait for the Dezariam fleet, so that four Dimensional Submarines could evacuate all immigrants from Iscandar. Yamato, Hyuga, and Deusura III enter the atmosphere and deployed their Wave-motion Shields to protect the Immigrant Fleet at sea from Dezarium's giant cannon attack.[12]
Deusura III crashes into Autoplanet Golba
When all the immigrants and the fleet left Iscandar, as Queen Stasha of Iscandar surrendered to Dezariam, Deusura III suddenly turned around at high speed then fired its Desler cannon and crashed into Autoplanet Golba to self-destruct. After Autoplanet Golba was destroyed by Yamato's crew, Deusura III retreated with the rest of the Garmillas fleet before Iscandar self-destructed. Deusura III then parted ways with the 65th Escort Corps eturned to Galman.[13][14]
Behind the scenes[]
The manual for the Deusura III bandai set uses the spelling "Deusula the 3rd" for the ship.[15] However, the official spelling of "Deusura" is seen on screen on the ship's hull.[1][5] The alternative spelling "III" in place of "the 3rd" is seen in promotional material for Star Blazers REBEL 3199.[16]
The shortened official name Deusura is used on screen in the same series. The official English title of episode 10's name spells the ship's name as "Deusura-III."[7]
