The Destoria-class Astro Heavy Cruiser is a second-class Greater Garmillan Empire astro armored ship type serving in the Imperial Astro Fleet and, formerly, in the Imperial Guard.
Armaments and Technical Specifications[]
The Destoria-class is a type of second-class astro armored ship. Known for its powerful beam cannons, the ship acts as the backbone of the Imperial Astro Fleet. It is classified as a "battleship" by the UN.[3] Although its beam weapons were able to penetrate the hulls of most United Nations Cosmo Navy ships during the Great Garmillas War,[1] they were not enough to penetrate Yamato's Wave-motion Shield. However, without the protection of this shield, the Destoria can still dish out serious damage with a few well-placed beam strikes.[5] The Destoria-class cruiser’s armor makes them immune to beam attacks from early Earthling beam cannons,[1] but it provides very little protection from shock cannons or torpedoes.[6][7][5] The cruiser's speed may have exceeded that of the Yamato, as one of the ships deployed by the Imperial Guard was able to catch up to the Yamato at Baleras.[8]
History[]
A Destoria-class being targeted
The Destoria class served in almost every major battle between the Greater Garmillan Empire and the United Nations. By January 17, 2199, the Teron Attack Force had various Destorias stationed at the Pluto Frontline Base.[1] In February of the same year, they were all destroyed during an attack on the Pluto Frontline Base launched by the UNCF battleship Yamato.[9] In March, several Destoria cruisers under the command of Major General Gremdt Goer were sucked along into a dimensional rift during the Skirmish Outside of the Dimensional Rift.[10]
Hundreds of Destorias from the 6th Armored Space Division, under the command of Admiral Elk Domel, participated in the Battle of the Small Magellanic Cloud Outskirts against the Gatlantis Empire's forces.[11] Multiple Imperial Guard Destorias partook in the Alteria Suppression.[12] Later, multiple Destorias participated in the First Battle against Domel to destroy the Yamato before being forced to retreat due to the orders of Vice Leader Redof Hiss.[12] On May 14,[13] the bulk of the Garmillas Empire's naval forces, including a vast number Destorias gathered at the Balun Military Base to attend a naval review cerimony and were caught up in the Planet Balun Breakthrough Operation.[14]

Four Destoria-class cruisers at Terezart
On June 15, two Imperial Guard Destorias were destroyed while pursuing the Yamato through Garmillas' Imperial Capital.[15] In August,[16] two Destorias under the command of Brigadier General Pasiv Vandevel were destroyed by a surprise attack by a Gatlantean fleet. Two other Destorias that were a part of the 8th Security Fleet when it remained stuck at Shambleau and were destroyed in a battle against Gatlantis. On September 21,[17] eleven Destorias participated in the Battle with Desler in Subspace.[18][19]
By early 2203, several Destoria-class cruisers that were originally part of the Guards Astro Fleet had gone AWOL along with ships from the regular forces.[20] These warships eventually fell under the control of Lieutenant General Ghader Talan and rendezvoused with the fallen Supreme Leader Desler.[21] These ships would remain at Desler's service for the remainder of the Garmillas Civil War and Gatlantis Campaign and later follow him in his search for a new home planet for the Garmillas race in collaboration with the Garmillas Provisional Government.[21][22][23][24][25] On June 2, hundreds of Garmillas ships, including various Destorias fought against Gatlantis during the Golem Assault Battle.[26]
By late 2205, various Destoria-class Cruisers were part of the Desler fleet and saw action in the Planet Galman Liberation Operation and in the Iscandar Incident.[25][27]
