To save Garmillas’ future, command by a powerful dictatorial regime is the only option.
—Hydom Gimleh, to Abelt Desler, [2]
The Desler Regime Revivalists,[3] also known as the Desler Regime Revivalist Faction,[4] was a group of Desler loyalists who wanted to restore the Desler regime active by 2202. They were led by Hydom Gimleh, former director of the Imperial Guard.
Organization[]

The Desler Regime Revivalists' headquarters
The Desler Regime Revivalist Faction was a highly secretive organization. They were headed by Hydom Gimleh, the former Director General of the Imperial Guard under the Desler administration, and one of the fallen Supreme Leader's staunchest supporters, but his identity as the leader of the group was kept secret to all but a small inner circle. The highest positions within the organization were occupied by former cabinet members of the Desler regime, who managed the group in secret from a headquarters located in Baleras, near the husk of the collapsed Presidential Office. This small council was made up of Nerun Keeling, Thol Toad, Medom Narkin, Logue Moram, Hidore Zarume and Hydom Gimleh.[2]
The Desler Regime Revivalists had operatives infiltrated within the Imperial Garmillas Defense Force, with various formations within the military ready to launch an insurrection by March 2203.[2][5] Some former Imperial Guard operatives were also present among their ranks, with at least two clone soldiers tasked with Gimleh's security.[1]
History[]
The Desler Regime Revivalists were founded sometime after the fall of the Desler administration during the Battle of the Imperial Capital in 2199. During the battle, Director General Hydom Gimleh of the Imperial Guard was believed to have been killed in the explosion of his flagship[6] but he actually survived and went underground, eventually coming to lead the organization together with other important figures of the fallen regime. His actions were in part led by the idea that coordination under an authoritarian government was the only way for the Garmillas people to survive the upcoming destruction of their home planet.[2]
Burrell gives Keyman his mission
Between 2199 and 2202, the Revivalist Faction infiltrated the Imperial Garmillas Defense Force, with several formations pledging loyalty to them.[2] Their movements were quickly caught by Loren Burrell, Garmillas Ambassador to the Earth Federation and a prominent Garmillas Security Intelligence Agency member.[7] Burrell planned for his subordinate, the investigator Ranhardt Desler, the young nephew of the thought-to-be-dead Supreme Leader Abelt Desler, to infiltrate the Desler Regime Revivalists and gain their trust to unveil their mysterious leader's identity.[2]

After Ranhardt joined their ranks, Gimleh began plotting to install him as the new Eternal Supreme Leader. To gain the Revivalists' complete trust, Ranhardt, going by the alias Klaus Keyman, joined the Earthling battleship Yamato on its journey to Terezart.[2] The Revivalists planned to sabotage and destroy the warship to take revenge for the fall of Abelt Desler, in which it had played a primary role. The occasion for the plan to come to fruition came on December 29, 2202,[5] when Yamato met with a Garmillan patrol fleet on the planet Stravaze to arrange a ride for the civilians they had saved in a previous battle. The officer heading the fleet, Lutz Kazette, was a member of the Revivalists, who orchestrated the meeting to give Keyman the Anti Wave-motion Lattice, a piece of technology capable of deactivating Yamato's wave-motion engine. To allow Keyman to use the lattice and sabotage the engine, Kazette lured the Destruction Liberation Army, another rebel organization within the Garmillas Empire, to the planet. However, unbeknownst to the Revivalists, the Destruction Liberation Army had amassed a much larger force than they initially imagined, and the [[Battle on Planet Stravase|battle]] between them and Yamato put their fleet and the entire planet in grave danger. By the end of the encounter, Yamato managed to destroy the enemy fleet, and the Revivalist ship escaped, albeit damaged. Keyman successfully infiltrated the Anti Wave-motion Lattice in Yamato's engine but refrained from activating it, waiting for the perfect moment.[8][9]

Gimleh is arrested by the National Security Police
Months later, on March 26, 2203,[5] Yamato reached Terezart and liberated the planet from the Gatlantean occupational forces. Soon after the end of the liberation battle, the thought-to-be-dead Abelt Desler re-emerged at the head of a new fleet of warships and created a blockade around the planet. Keyman took the chance and joined his uncle, and after revealing himself to him and arresting some of Yamato's officers, he activated the Anti Wave-motion Lattice, rendering the ship immobile. Kazette was immediately informed of Desler's reappearance and contacted Gimleh. The head of the Revivalists personally sent a transmission to Desler's flagship and reported to the Eternal Supreme Leader that all was ready to launch an uprising on Garmillas to reinstate his reign. This carelessness would ultimately sign the end of Gimleh's organization. Now fully aware of the Revivalist Faction's leader identity and location, Keyman reactivated Yamato's engine and sent a message to Burrell, who contacted the Provisional Government Secretary of Internal Affairs, Redof Hiss, and mobilized the National Security Police to arrest the former Director General.[1][2]
With Gimleh's arrest, Desler's chances of regaining his throne were lost.[1] In the following months, his forces made peace with the Provisional Government, and the two factions began working together on the Garmillas Migration Plan. Some former members of the Desler Regime Revivalists joined forces with Desler's fleet, while others joined the Provisional Government's ranks.[10]
