The young Deslers proclaims his philosophy to his people

The young Deslers proclaims his philosophy to his people

My dear citizens of the Garmillas Empire! In order to achieve everlasting peace in the universe, further expansion and integration of Iscandarism is necessary! It is God's will as well as the noble mission of every Garmillas citizen!

Abelt Desler, speech upon his elevation to Supreme Leader for life[1]

The Desler Doctrine, also spelled Dessler Doctrine,[2] was a military and political chauvinist policy proclaimed by Abelt Desler, which encouraged Garmillan expansionism as means to spread planet Iscandar's creed of bringing "salvation of all intelligent life in the universe". It was considered one of the guiding principles of the Greater Garmillan Empire during Desler's rule as Supreme Leader. It was often put in practice in conjunction with the ideals of Garmillan superiority, brought forward by the Garmillas Imperial Guard and the Garmillan aristocracy.[1][3][4][5][6]

The Desler Doctrine was first proposed by Supreme Leader Desler as a fusion of Iscandarism, Queen Stasha Iscandar personal philophy for her empire, and Desler's own desires for his country. The idea of bringing salvation to all intelligent life in the universe brought forward by Iscandarism fascinated the Supreme Leader who, moved by the love he felt for the Iscandarian Queen, promised her to bring that principle to fruition. Desler was also moved by the desire to find a suitable home planet for his people in place of the dying Garmillas, which had reached the end of its life cicle and was going to face an uninevitable collapse in the following decades.[1][4][5]

For this reason Desler created his Doctrine as a way to bring his empire to expand, partially using the feelings of garmillan exceptionalism that were already widespread among his people, he claimed that it was God's will and Garmillas's duty to bring as many worlds as possible under the empire's fold in order to spread Iscandarism throughout the universe. This way the Supreme Leader was both trying to appeal to his beloved Stasha, as well as conquering as many planets as he could in hopes that one of them could fit the necessary criteria to allow for garmillan colonisation.[1]

History[]

Desler promises to spread Stasha's philosophy

Desler had been fascinated in Iscandar and its Queen since he was eight years old when he visited the planet together with his uncle, Grand Duke Erik Vam Desler. He payed Stasha a visit again after his reunification of Garmillas following a period of civil war. There he promised Stasha he would do everything in his power to spread her philosphy throughout the universe, this way he wished to bring about the unification of the two twin planets.[5][7]

Around that time, he officially announced the Desler Doctrine to his people and, in accordance with it, the newfounded Greater Garmillan Empire begun a series of expantionary campaigns that would eventually bring the Small and Large Magellanic Clouds under Garmillas's rule. In 2191 planet Teron was located in the Milky Way Galaxy and was deemed a good candidate for Garmillasforming, thus a state of war errupted between the empire and the people of the planet, the conflict would lead to the dethronement of Desler.[1][3][8]
