Erich Domel's Desler Cross.
The Desler Cross is one of the highest awards for service in the military of the Greater Garmillan Empire during the reign of Supreme Leader Abelt Desler.
History[]
After establishing a long record of battlefield victories for the empire, Vice Admiral Erich Domel was granted the Desler Cross in 2199. Despite the great honor associated with the medal, and the very vocal appreciation of his troops, when word of the award was delivered by Admiral Gul Ditz, Domel was hesitantand saw it as a distraction from his new campaign against Gatlantis forces. The admiral admitted that political motivations were responsible for the timing of the award, but ordered the general to accept nevertheless.[1] Days later, Domel was welcomed to the capital city, Baleras, by an adoring public audience and received his medal from Supreme Leader Desler in front of the imperial palace.[2]
Notes[]
- The name of the award is probably a reference to the Iron Cross, a military decoration in use in the Kingdom of Prussia, German Empire and Third Reich.
- Erwin Rommel, namesake of Erich Domel, was awarded the iron cross two times by Hitler, 2nd Class on 24 September 1914 and 1st Class on 29 January 1915
