Deda was a Dezarian captain of the Dezariam Army battleship Great Pleiades. He was one of the main Dezariam commanders during the Iscandar Incident. He was part of the Magellan Dispatch Force, which time-travelled to October 2205 and participated in a mission to capture planet Iscandar and tow it to their home planet, Dezariam.
He was killed in action during the Battle in the Vorzon System.
History[]
Battle against the Dezariam Hammers[]
According to Dezariam's account of the future, the Magellan Dispatch Force travelled back in time from the year 3198 to October 2205.[4]
Deda, naked in his chambers, discusses with Meldarz
Deda was already the commanding officer of the Modified Pleiades-class Assault Battleship Great Pleiades and led its escort. During the Battle against the Dezariam Hammers, on October 16,[1] he talked with his superior Meldarz about the Desler fleet's unforseen interference in their attempts to destroy planet Garmillas. While Deda didn't see it as a problem, Meldarz ordered him to destroy the "noise" not present in their records of the past.[5]
Deda and his fleet arrived late in the battle, but they immediately went after planet Iscandar, which was thrown out of its orbit by Garmillas's destruction. Deda and his forces eventually caught up and were attacked by the Berger Fleet, which was closely following Iscandar in an attempt to rescues the Garmillas refugee fleet there.[5]
Planet Iscandar was then forced to warp by the Dezarians, and Deda's fleet followed it.[5]
Rescue of Iscandar[]
Deda and his fleet arrived at the Vorzon system with Iscandar, and formed a blockade around the planet. He ignored the messages of Iscandar Royal Family's attachée Merda Ditz, and ordered to deploy numerous Assault Fighter Caterpillars which started to attack the Garmillan refugee ships in order to destroy the "noise."[6]
Deda, angered by the Yamato's attacks on his Great Pleiades
As Deda ordered the Great Pleiades and his fleet to fire upon Supreme Leader Abelt Desler's flagship, it was protected by the sudden arrival of the Earth Federation's 65th Escort Corps led by the space battleship Yamato.[6]
While still in orbit, the Great Pleiades was fired upon by the Yamato as a warning, after Meldarz ordered a temporary withdrawal. This shook Deda, but his superior instructed him not to lose his composure so as to not worsen the noise.[2]
Battle in the Vorzon System and death[]
The Great Pleiades and the rest of the fleet remained in orbit over Iscandar, but were lured by 65th Escort Corps fighters, then by the Berger Fleet, which made Deda order his fleet to pursue the Garmillan fleet, toward Garmario, where the Yamato was waiting.[2]
Deda is surprised by his emotions
After failing to use Iscandar to shield the fleet, Deda ordered the Great Pleiades and his fleet to open fire on the Yamato, interrupting the firing sequence of the battleship's wave motion gun. As his forces closed in on the Earthlings, Deda became more emotional, which surprised him. He attributed this to feeling Dezariam's "Thousand Years Dream" being close to realization.[2]
Deda would focus his fleet on targeting the space battleship and thwart their operation, however, due to Yamato sacrificing its remaining power by activating its wave motion shield to protect itself against the fleet's volleys, Deda and his fleet would be destroyed by the ship's wave motion gun.[2]
Appearance[]
Deda was a well-built Dezarian man
Deda was a Dezarian man with light blue-grey skin, a square jaw, and a flat nose.[5] Like many Dezarians,[7] he was bald. had prominent temples and cheekbones, along with large ears. He was broad-shouldered and extremely muscular.[5]
His eyes were blue and he had bushy eyebrows. When he entered battle mode, his sclera turned a light blue color, and a dark outline appeared around his eyes,[5] which is a characteristic of his species.[8]
Deda wore a white Dezarian uniform adorned with grey geometric details along the neck and chest. The uniform also featured a red-lined cape, and it could materialize onto his body.[5]
Personality[]
Deda was usually calm and collected
Deda was usually a quiet individual and an enjoyer of classical music. His demeanor was reminding of an ancient warrior training his body and nourishing his soul with art. He was a stalwart commander of the Dezariam Army.[3] When not commanding his fleet, he tended to sit in silence[9] in his chamber aboard the Great Pleiades.[5]
However, after battling for the first time against the forces of Garmillas and Earth, he awakened new emotions such as impatience, anxiety, recklessness, and anticipation, as well as an enjoyment for fighting previously unknown even to him. In his final moments before his death, Deda let out an angry scream before the Great Pleiades was utterly destroyed in the process at the hand of the space battleship Yamato.[2]
