This article is about Deda as portrayed in Space Battleship Yamato 2205: A New Journey, for his counterpart in the original Yamato The New Voyage, see Daeder.

Deda[1] was the captain of the Dezariam battleship Great Pleiades. He was one of the main Dezariam commanders during the Iscandar Incident.[2]

History[]

Battle against the Dezariam Hammers[]

In late 2205, Deda was already a commander and in charge of the Great Pleiades fleet. He is first seen aboard his flagship the Great Pleiades when he receives word of theier mining operations being interrupted during Battle against the Dezariam Hammers on planet Gamilas by the Dessler Fleet. Deda is then immediately ordered by his superior Meldarz to intercept them. Deda and his advanced fleet arrived late in the battle, but they immediately went after planet Iscandar that was thrown out of it’s orbit and into the depths of space itself. Deda and his forces eventually caught up and literally got the jump on and immediately attacked the Berger Fleet that was closely following Iscandar in an attempt to rescues the Garmillas refugees trapped there.

Rescue of Iscandar[]

Battle in the Vorzon System & Death[]

In an attempt to destroy Yamato, Deda would focus his fleet on targeting the space battleship and thwart their operation, however, due to Yamato sacrificing its remaining power by activating its wave motion shields to protect itself against the fleet's volleys, Deda along with his fleet would be destroyed by Yamato's own destructive wave motion gun during the 65th Escort Corps' operation to stop Garmario from being converted into energy to warp Iscandar.

Personality[]

Deda was usually a quiet individual and an enjoyer of classical music. His demeanor was reminding of an ancient warrior training his body and nourishing his soul with art. However, after battling for the first time against the forces of Garmillas and Earth, he awakened new emotions such as impatience, anxiety, recklessness, and anticipation, as well as an enjoyment for fighting previously unknown even to him. In his final moments before his death, Deda let out an angry scream before the Great Pleiades was utterly destroyed in the process at the hand of the space battleship Yamato.
