The Prototype Dimensional Submarine Cosmo Hound (H-201),[2] also called simply the Cosmo Hound is the first H201-class Prototype Dimensional Submarine and the first Earth Federation vessel capable of travelling back and forth between normal space and subspace. It was developed thanks to a technological exchange between the Earth and the Greater Garmillan Empire, it was used by 65th Escort Corps during the Iscandar Incident.
Armament and Technical Specifications[]

Cosmo Hound performs a dimensional dive
The Cosmo Hound is equipped with a Type Ga 200 dimensional diving device, a dimensional dive technology, that was developed from the Gesh vual Engine in use in the Garmillas dimensional submarines and brought to Earth through a technological exchange.[1][4]
Like the dimensional submarines, it has multi-dimensional phase ballast tank which allows it to breaking through the dimensional boundary. It is placed inside of the stabilizing wings. In case of emergency, it's possible to forcibly remove the wings and ascend to normal space.[5] Since the Cosmo Hound was based on the concept of a multi-purpose transport boat, there's a structure separating the main body and the stabilizing wings. Since the only model ever constructed so far is a prototype, it's not equipped with any kind of weaponry.[1]
History[]

Cosmo Hound being assembled
The Cosmo Hound is the first H201-class Prototype Dimensional Submarine,[6] the result of a technological exchange between the Earth Federation and the Greater Garmillan Empire. On October 1, 2205, Dessler Fleet Engineering Sargeant Sukeji Yabu, carrying critical components for the Cosmo Hound's Gesh-Vual engine, boarded the Wave Motion Experimental Ship Ginga to carry out the exchange. However, due to the increasing tension between the Greater Garmillan Empire and the Bolar Federation, Earth Federation opted to carry out the exchange away from the spotlight outside of the Solar System. Yabu and his equipment were thus transferred to the 65th Escort Corps.[5] The next day, Yabu was transferred to Yamato to analyze the Gesh-vual materials, while the Cosmo Hound itself began to be assembled aboard the supply carrier Asuka.[7][8]

Cosmo Hound prepares to take off
During the final battle of the conflict with Dezarium, the Gesh-vual's core was taken to Asuka and the Cosmo Hound was launched on a mission to save the Iscandarian Royal Family. During the return journey, the Dezarian commander released a device to capture the Cosmo Hound while it was traveling through subspace. To escape capture, the Cosmo Hound separated its wings from the main section allowing the craft to rapidly ascend to normal space. Dezarium managed to only capture the wing section, which was carrying a wave-motion excavator. The excavator's explosion greatly damaged the Dezarian flagship[5]
Following the 65th Escort Corps return to Earth, the Cosmo Hound was permanently assigned to Asuka and was equipped with self-defense armament similar to that of the Type 5 Medium Transport Boat.[3]
Notes[]
- The Cosmo Hound's development team named the craft after Commander Wolf Flakken, the captain of the first Garmillan dimensional submarine, famously known by the nickname "the Hound".[1]
