The Chevalier was a Gaiderol-class Astro Battleship used by Colonel Valcke Schulz of the Teron Attack Force as his flagship.
History[]
It participated in the First Battle of Pluto on January 17, 2199, leading a fleet composed of itself, seven Destoria-class Astro Heavy Cruisers, twenty-two Kelkapia-class High Speed Astro Cruisers, and at least eighty-nine Kripitera-class Astro Destroyers.[3] It was the only Garmillas ship to survive the Yamato's assualt on Pluto.[4] Operating from Chevalier during the Encirclement of the Gliese 581 System, Schulz attempted to destroy the Yamato with the Desler Torpedo, a weapon that had been transferred to his vessel as part of an operation organized bySupreme Leader Abelt Desler. When the crew of the Le Chevalier realized that the weapon had failed to the destroy the Yamato they were met with both rude and angry outbursts from Major General Gremdt Goer, who accused them of being incompetent, only for him to be instantly hung up and ignored by Major Guelf Ganz. Colonel Valcke Schultzly decided, with the backing of sil crbrt to try and take the Yamato out with them, since they couldn't have returned home if they had defied their orders. The Chevalier pursued and fired at the Yamato from behind, managing to score several direct hits. It was ultimately destroyed along with its crew above the star Gliese 581, as they followed the Yamato through a temporary gap in a solar flare. The crew of the battleship and their families were all awarded first-class Garmillas citizenship for their sacrifice.[5]
