The people of the planet Dingir, who appear in the movie Final Yamato, are descendants of Sumerians rescued from Earth by unknown aliens (whom they now regard as gods) during The Great Flood 10,000 years ago. They developed an advanced empire (as well as grey skin) on their new homeworld they named Dingir and have become extremely arrogant and militant. Most of them were wiped out when their homeworld was flooded by the planet Aquarius. While the majority of their military forces remain loyal to their Emperor Lugarl to invade and flood Earth, there were a few Denguil People who disagreed with the Emperor's twisted intentions such as the unfortunate unnamed Denguil Boy, who happens to be the disowned biological son and youngest heir to the Denguil Emperor. This one Dingirian Boy decided to join Earth in their fight against his own people and his own Father and would unfortunately gave his own life to trying to save Susume Kodai from being executed and did managed to help save Earth from destruction, ultimately proving that not all Dingarians are evil, honor-less, merciless, barbaric people in the end.
