Black Analyzer was an AU13 unit[3] active aboard the Ginga, he was supposed to play a central part in the activation and management of Project G.

Biography[]

Black Analyzer[3] handled the majority of Ginga's functions and programming. It assessed the successes and failures of various plans and operations, serving as a tool for the time fault's AI mainframe to learn and develop more advanced algorithms. This continuous learning aimed to enhance combat efficiency.[2] Even before the launch of the ship, Black Analyzer calculated the most likely strategy that the Gatlantis Empire would employ when invading the solar system in May of 2203.[4] His predictions were adopted by the Earth Defense Force as part of their preparations for the impending invasion, and ultimately ended up being correct.[5]

Black Analyzer gave his suggestions during the attack on the annihilation missile fleet, on May 11, 2203.[6] He proposed the activation of the Ginga's CRS booster to protect the small force that was assaulting a Gatlantean missile fleet. Later, when Lt. J.G. Yasuo Nanbu proposed to move the fleet closer to the enemy, he refused, stating their attack wouldn't be effective and cost too many casualties. He instead proposed to activate Operation Black Bird, which the ship's captain, Saki Todo, accepted.[2]

When the total losses of the Earth-Garmillas joint forces reached 50%, Black Analyzer warped Ginga away from the frontlines and took partial control of the ship in order to move forward with Project G.[1]

On May 24,[7] Lieutenant Commander Shiro Sanada proposed to Captain Todo the use of the CRS booster to enhance the Wave-motion Guns of the battleship Andromeda, which was currently attacking the Ark of Destruction. This enhancement would help the trapped battleship Yamato escape the Ark's gravity well. However, Black Analyzer highlighted the low chances of success and warned that the strain on the CRS could result in losing its booster. He insisted on proceeding with Project G instead, but Sanada interrupted him angrily, stating that he was addressing Captain Todo.[1]

Despite Sanada's interjection, Black Analyzer continued to insist on his position. In response, Captain Todo shot Black Analyzer, regaining full command of the ship. The deactivation of Black Analyzer led to a shutdown of all systems, necessitating a reboot by the crew of the Ginga, and forced the ship to abandon Project G.[1]

By the following December, Ginga was given a new autonomous sub-computer, White Analyzer.[8]

Personality[]

Black Analyzer was created solely to gather data for the AI mainframe and to manage Ginga and Project G. Unlike other robots such as AU-09 and the Analyzers AU-19, he did not exhibit any particular personality traits beyond his insistence on adhering to the project.[2][1]

Behind the scene[]

Like all other robots similar to Analyzer, Black Analyzer is portrayed by Cho in Japanese and by Sonny Strait in English.[2]
