The Beldel Fighter was the mainstay space superiority fighter that was built and utilized by the reclusive and enigmatic Beldel.

The Beldel Fighter is a truly bizarre and odd looking fighter in design as it sort of resembles both a crossbow and also the sleek insect-like appearance of a dragonfly. The Beldel Fighter has a crew complement of two, one pilot (to fly and navigate the craft), and a gunner (to fire the craft's weapons) in order to operate it. The fighter is armed only with a single forward mounted rapid firing laser machine gun.[1]
Strengths and Weaknesses[]
In combat, the Beldel Fighter is used effectively as an escort fighter for protecting friendly capitol ships that completely lack fighter support, such as the Fridel Warship, which apparently lacked fighter bays and proper point defensive weapon systems. The Beldel Fighter is fast, versatile, and deadly in combat. The Bedel Fighter, it however, does in fact have a few exploitable weaknesses that are also fatal flaws in it's design, such as it's poor armor protection, and also being out maneuvered, outflanked, and outgunned by faster and more maneuverable fighters such as the Cosmo Pulsar (Fighter Variant) used by Earth.[1]
History[]
Many Beldel Fighters saw plenty of action during many famous battles of the SUS Empire-Earth Federation War, including, and most notably in the Battle of BH-199 and Battle of SUS Fortress, where many of them were destroyed in ensuing dogfights with Earth's Cosmo Pulsar fighter-craft.[1]

- The original concept design of the Beldel Fighter was actually designed and created by concept art designer Makoto Kobayashi, who designed all of the Earth and SUS spaceships and fighter mecha for Yamato Rebirth.
